Bully, am I right to say your monthly payment will be £23.60 :-

    Line rental £10.00
    Phone £4.90 (unlimited anytime call 01,02, 08etc)
    Broadband £8.70

Yep, that's right Doc...I'm very happy with this deal...I do like BT, it's never given me any trouble and any minor probs are always sorted by the technicians in India, who I find are charming and very, very helpful...all the calls are 0800 numbers for help too.....we have Sky TV but not convinced re their Broadband package...read lots of reviews about it being slow at peak times and customer service not good , did not even want to phone Sky for info as it is 0844 number...I will only call if it's free, never call for quotes for insurance/or anything else if not a free call...so 0845 or 0870 will get my business....use internet for quote and then call and ask for better price, usually works....renewed with Saga when told them confused.com quotes giving me £100 better offer( with company I would never have used in a million years) but Saga matched the offer...find telephoning always gets me best deals.....hate wasting money on phone calls....still got lots of credit on my mobile, put £10 on in Jan 2011 before we went to Eygpt and reckon maybe will have to top another £10 up in 2013....£5 a year on mobile is acceptable to me.

Yes yes yes - totally agree with you!
I'm maybe at £7.50 / year on mobile - never ring on it, use landline - just an odd text (stuck in traffic, don't put dinner in dog, etc! - not while I'm driving though , I car share)

Went out to do quick shopping ( 15 minutes the quickest I have ever done):A

M&S food worth approx £46 for nowt in fact even better me got change in cash £4:rotfl:. Used 2 x £15 e-vouchers, 2 x £10 allotment vouchers.

Paid £7 (or was it £7.50? me can't remember) for the e-voucher less £4 cash back so me only paid £3 for :-

3 packs of breaded chicken (£10 for 3)
    3 packs of lasagne (£6 for 3)
3 packs of beef in pasta sheet (can't remember what its called) £6 for 3
2 packs of cottage pies (£2 each)
2 packs of shepherd pies (£2 each)

Chinese side dish :- £3.99 each

1 beef in black bean sauce
    1 oyster chicken & mushroom
    1 sweet & sour chicken
    1 lemon chicken

Wanted to get their Chinese meal deal £9.99 but me think its not worth £9.99 (very small portion) - My DS alone can eat the whole contents in the box.

So me shall microwave me own rice for tonight's dine dine with the above chinese dishes.

Also wanted to get their Indian dishes but their range are very limited!

Anybody with Talk Talk? I know some does not like them but the offer such a good price.

    Hi Doc,

We've been with Talk Talk for years and I keep saying I'll change but couldn't be bothered ... until now. We used to have speeds of around 2mg but then it started to drop to aroung 800kb. We got quite excited when it went back to 1mg, but over the past few months we have experienced speeds (can we use that word now) of between 240kb and 620kb .

Not sure if we pay £21 or £23 per month? for landline, inclusive calls (not mobiles. 0870 or 0845) and free broadband!

Have replaced filters when advised by Talk Talk but nakes no difference. Definately time for a change.

    Right,
thats four pages of posts read and 'thanks' acknowledged. Will try to catch up with others again ;)

Aesop, Doc and Fungaltendancy (and anyone I may have missed) - thanks for suggestions, will try those and others from the CIAO reviews - including, but not limited to, hammer, screwdriver and pliers  - hopefully these will be a last resort ;).

Doc, what make of tin opener is that please?
Fungaltendancy - I was trying to open it round the top using a 'butterfly' tinopener (well three of them actually).
Aesop - good idea, I will email Fray Bentos. I didn't think of doing a google search until you mentioned it and some of the complaints go back three years!

Hoping to try the 'just chicken' one this week, so if I start trying to open it tonight, I might get into it by Thursday :)
