    Morning Everyone :hello:

Just a quick 'cut and run' as have a marathon shopping session to do today!. Will try to catch up on last few weeks posts when I get back.

Just want some advice please :) How on earth do you open tins of Fray Bentos Pies? It took two of us 3 hours, 3 different tin openers, a knife and lots of colourful language! If DH hadn't got it open then he was going to resort to the hammer . Surely there is an easier way whereby you don't have to risk amputating your fingers - suggestions please. (Have to run, so hopefully when I come back with another tin (cos they are sooo nice) I will have the ideal solution waiting for me ;)

Aesop, we didn't have any post for three days last week, which is unusual, and then on Saturday, we had a mega delivery with the word 'ICE' written on the top envelope. I think the postie must have thought our drive was too slippy for him

Morning all. Had a very hectic weekend helping DS and his partner move house. I have been looking for a link (that I thought I had saved) where you can order a free gift for someone who has moved house. Think it came with some basic cleaning materials, cloths and some other bits that would be useful when you are in a new place. Does anyone have any ideas what I am talking about? I definitely read about it on MSE some time ago, but now can't find it. I don't even know which forum I was on but as you lot as so very knowledgeable, I was hoping someone might be able to help.
Off to catch up on washing, ironing, shopping now, but will sit down later with a cuppa and catch up on the last few days of posting.

FT I don't own my place so I'm not responsible for fixing the boiler or anything. The people that are responsible would rather have someone come out 20 times to repair different parts than put a new boiler in.

Ahh sorry PM from you saying about cost i thought you were responsible.
Thats really sucky about the landlords.Thats why im glad we own now cause even though we have to pay for it its on our schedule.

Fingers crossed the guy can get it fixed for you!!

Sorry FT I don't think I was very clear. Yes being stuck waiting for others to get there acts together is no fun. 24 hrs with no heating or hot water, if he can't fix it today is will be a few more days like this.

the only thing I can find on line is to use a can opener. Place it on the edge, underneath the metal rim and try to open like that. Maybe you should email them as looking online most people have great difficulty getting the tins open. They may send you some vouchers for your bother ;)

  • a really nice lady just delivered my supplies and this company is very MSE for me as i get free hand soap and a pack of wet wipes with my order so i think i will order from them again as long as there is nothing wrong with my bags. so that will save me a few £s a year on soap and wet wipes.
