Hi MW, your day sounds fab and lovely to hear your DS has "paddled" in the sea.
I think you deserve a quiet sit down with a cup of tea today.
Best wishes Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Advice duly taken - tea brewed, saying bye to MIL.
Today is going to be much slower - supervising DD's diary writing, taking her to holiday scheme for a few hours round the corner, have another ama$on sale to post and DD wants to talk to pharmacist about her sore thumb (from falling out of bunk at holiday camp!). All within 10 mins walk of the house so nothing stressful. Hope everyone else has a good day too.

£3.10 due from Ama$on trade in - was a book I bought for £1, read, and was about to give away but just checked its value and am glad I did! It is too heavy to consider selling, but the postage is covered via the trade-in service. It is the first time have used this method, but not the last!
Not much battery on lappy or time left to update am afraid, guests due round in an hour! Lemon drizzle in the oven though.

Hello,
How does the trade in work please? Sounds good,
Squirrel:jPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Hi Squirrel
The info about Trade In is here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trade-In/b?ie=UTF8&node=440443031
The gist is that merchants buy your used books/cds/dvds off you. They must be in good condition, and you can print off a postage paid label to send it to them. You can search for items which you can get a trade in on, or I noticed when I logged in it had a list of the books I've bought from Ama$on and their trade in value. A lot of the time the trade in value is a lot less than what you would get selling it yourself, but it is a guaranteed amount, rather than it sitting at home and not selling. They don't offer it on every item - I think it tends to be mianly new books which have a high resale value.
HTH.
ps. Noticed that Amazon is offering a free app every day to download (normally paid for). Visit http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_171296587_2?ie=UTF8&docId=1000644603&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=13CMEMD1118TXJQBPW77&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=323506227&pf_rd_i=468294

Have had the most amazing two days at the paralympics, saw David Weir get gold and the Oscar silver shocker! Also watched some wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis and goalball, and had lots of time to explore the site. It really is an incredible event. DD loved it, and I *think* DS may not have been completely deafened by the standing ovation Weir received! We took packed lunches, but had dinners there, a few ice-creams and bought DD a mascot as a treat so not that MS but worth every penny for allowing us to enjoy something I think we will remember for years to come.
£12.92 OP made today from Ama$on sales; have to do banking with OH tonight as we've both been paid now.
One more sale to post today, plus have to sort out DDs diary . And MUST get some sleep, two days with 3 1/2 hours of interrupted sleep a night is NOT enough to function, especially after the amount of energy used up cheering on various teams!
My only sour note today is that I called to let home insurance know the tenant moved out in April so that would get right quote for renewal- and got £12 refund. Could have had more like £60 if I'd let them know when they moved out ! Am annoyed with myself for not realising they would refund parts of the premium. Live and learn I suppose.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Statement arrived yesterday... erm, I've misplaced it already so can't give exact figure
, but remember it was £163,8xx! So we skipped the £165s and the £164s
.
DD back to school today, and first school run of the new year went well. I laid out mine and DS's clothes the night before, and DD did hers so we were all up and dressed by 7am. So nice not to have to rush, and when had to go on diversion due to works in the park, still arrived with plenty of time. Hope we can continue this.
Have really enjoyed summer; now have that back to school feeling, so trying to put in things that will enjoy in the routine.
Started a baby massage class yesterday, not cheap at £48 for 5 sessions, but having tried and failed to get on a free course by the children's centres I thought would give it a go. It is in the teacher's house and has a small class size of 6. We did legs yesterday, and finished with tea and biscuits which was very civilised. Tried the routine on him this morning which he seemed to enjoy.
Have signed up for free first aid class for parents, due to start end of the month, found free knitting/crochet group which meet in daytime, and joined a book group which meet once a month. Am still practicing my welsh on my little walks, and have also joined the committee of local maternity services advisory group, so all in all feel like I have a lovely mix of things to do for me. There are loads of groups around here for DS but will start trying the odd one when I am feeling more settled into my routine.
Bought some wool from local stall on market to start new baby blanket for friend's baby, due October. I finally finished the one for friend's baby that I had started before DS came :j!
OP made today of £9.35, made up of refund of £6.25 from b0dy shop item that was damaged when received (still used it!) and the £3.10 ama$on trade in voucher which I used today towards some new massage oil for DS.
