Have done a bit of research and found this very interesting:
    http://www.theperrymount.com/downloads/downloads_files/Colic_help.pdf

Looks like there is a lot of potential foods that can cause colic - and I am struggling to make sure I eat regularly and healthily, so not quite ready for an exclusion diet! However, this does say about if the mum has ibs or similar digestive problems - which I do, and that friendly bacteria can help so have started taking the probiotics that I already have and plan to splash out on the expensive one he recommends when that is finished to see if that makes a difference.

homewise, we've had a good few days with local (free) activities - crafting at the library, summer reading challenge, making costumes for olympic related parade, trip to a playground, swimming and time at home reading, watching films, and working on school diary. DD has some jealousy issues however with the new arrival, so that is quite emotionally draining, hope we can work through it. Today is still blazing sun so we are going to make a trip to an outdoor paddling pool, which is one of the things DD wrote on her list of 10 things she'd like to do this summer. Last day of annual travelcard, so free to get there and back. Not looking forward to having to pay for travel- will mean a lot more walking for all of us!

paddling pool fail - they only fill it on certain days, even at the height of summer. Uh?? Had ice-creams and water fight with friend instead which DD loved ;)

£13.75 OP made today, from 22p interest and the rest on an Ama$on sale. Over the £5.5k mark on OPs this year, that feels good :D.

went into central london with OH and DS for the first time last night since DS was born. Really enjoyed catching up with friends, and them meeting DS. Absolutely whacked today though, and have long drive today so DS can meet rest of family who won't be up in London soon.

Lots to catch up on. Hope you get to the bottom of baby's wind problems. I do think dairy in your diet can play a big part but probiotic also meant to help. Hopefully as he gets bigger he will grow out of it a little.

Great OP's despite having the pressures of caring for a newborn. Sounds like you have lots of fun things planned for DD aswell, am sure she will enjoy it and the time you spend together.

Both myself and sort of sil found orange juice made for colic-y babies... do I remember correctly that you're a Tr0picana fan?

Well done on the OPs :D Stupid paddling pool people - I expect that means they also fill it on rainy days if it's timetabled to be one of the filled days...? ;):rotfl:

Hope you and DS are coping with the heat..

hi catht and thanks for popping in - i really need to catch up on your diary too.

greent - i get the impression the pool will never deviate from timetable, come rain or shine! it's the oh and dd who are the tropican& fans, i gave up citrus a few years ago to see if would help with migraines - it didn't, but still off the oj (the odd slice of lemon drizzle is a different story :rotfl:!)

had lovely weekend introducing ds to friends and family who aren't able to visit. he was good as gold in the day, but unsettled at night, and again last night so feeling tired again. he has been grouchy today with the wind, just wants to feed constantly or be held :(.

had another miracle sleep - from 10.30 to 4.30 :j! Not bad for a 6 week old bf baby! Feeling better, although can hear him grizzling in DD's arms so need to dash in a mo.

Payday - have moved £1k into current account, have £460 spare - £100 odd from underspending last month. Will put £150 into savings, and £310 is to pay for our share of accommodation for mum's 60th next year.

Have been majorly underspending on personal account, so now have nearly £300 there. This is great, as I have close friend getting married next year - spoke to her on the weekend and she is planning 3 hen dos! I can definitely afford two already with this money, and hopefully any spare pocket money over the next few months will cover the third.

The house is looking a bit of a state at the mo, and have some financial things need to do so have the following goals for the end of the week:
    * r[STRIKE]eturn DD's summer camp forms[/STRIKE]
    * apply for Child Benefit checked online and can do this next week
    * complete forms to set up regular Premium bond savings for DD and DS forms requested, awaiting in post
    * [STRIKE]put away clean laundry in spare room[/STRIKE]
    * finish sorting through my clothes to see what fits half done place a tip :o
    * change all bedding including guest room (mum down) done spare room and DD, ours next
    * spend 1/2 hr on basket of doom have done 5 mins so far...

monday was a NSD, yesterday only spent 4.49 on pork, and today was hoping for NSD but might have to buy some bread rolls to go with the pulled pork!

DD loved the summer playscheme yesterday, did circus skills and quite taken with stilt walking. saw friend and had walk around local park which has almost finished its works.

did some laundry putting away and OH actually commented that the house was looking tidy - something he never does!

about to take dd to local museum for art workshop. we had a bit of an argument earlier as she is so messy and hates getting told to tidy up after herself - but if I don't tell her she doesn't do it!

am very tired after DS woke up for 5 feeds last night. hoping for a better night tonight.

Think you're right about the growth spurt, he seems to be changing before my very eyes!

Today he went over an hour just lying down and looking at things - and stayed asleep in his buggy afterwards for almost 2 hours! This is unheard of - he normally wakes and cries if not being held or carried in sling. felt like a very different (and much easier) baby.

Took DD to a free event with a performance poet, just spent £2.40 on bus fare. Took out some good condition baby books for DS, he now has his own library card (aww!). Packed a lunch with rolls and the pulled pork (which was gorgeous btw and really easy!), and some freebie snack bars from the olympic event, had them in a local park.

Had call from DD's summer camp, I must send back forms to them (:o oops!). I have dug them out from basket of doom, and just need to find a photo of DD to attach and can then return. Stripped and washed bedding in spare room, needs to dry and can be replaced. Also washed blanket on there as saw a live moth under it when changing, grrr! Put a loaf on, done a nappy load, more laundry putting away and applied for an ISA at 2.85% for when savings mature in a few days. Can get higher rates but this is instant access and can be managed online, so for the sake of a couple of quid in interest a year think it is worth it as we may need to dip into savings at some point.

OH also came home with 4 free outfits for DS; friends have also offered us their son's old clothes which we are very grateful to receive :D (especially as I think they buy NEW clothes from SHOPS and everything!).

Bath time for LO, then bed for us all.

Hopefully you have broken his spirit MW and he will behave now :D.

What is this NEW & SHOPS concept............... off to google it :rotfl:.
