Thanks everyone for the lovely messages, I didn't realise so many of you read my diary
Well, we've had our first week with mini-mw - he is absolutely gorgeous and a real delight. According to the midwife I am recovering well from the birth, and baby has put on 400g, which I was surprised about given he is exclusively breastfed. It is however absolute chaos - he feeds about half the night, and with DD we've still got to get up and do stuff in the day so I am absolutely exhausted. OH is home for another week and a half, which is great - he is doing school run, cooking, baby burping, nappy changing, hoovering etc - but it is still hard to grab much sleep in the day due to his near constant feeding. Hopefully as his stomach grows this will settle down soon. Finding time for DD is also a challenge!
In terms of moneysaving, only a little to report. Am trialling 2 products for surveys. The reusuable nappies were too big for a newborn, so we have agreed to use disposables for the first few weeks. Used 2 pampers vouchers out of my bounty pack on a multibuy discount, saving an extra £4, and used £25 Mr S vouchers had from raffle prize/sandwich complaint to buy things we needed - like a baby blanket! The fact I remembered to use vouchers at all felt like a major achievement! And being fortunate enough to breastfeed is good for the pocket, as well as Baby.
We have also been very lucky to receive some very generous gifts from friends and relatives, and we are looking to use the money to buy a food processor, something we have wanted for 3 years since my last one broke but never quite put our hands in our pocket for. It should help with making baby foods when Baby is ready to be weaned too.
We've had another £85 shop week, but managed to stay away from takeaways/ fast food options.
Something I need to address quite urgently is the fact I need clothes in my new size I can breast feed in. I currently have one dress - £12 from Mr S - and 1 shirt - £3 from charity shop, and my maternity leggings. That is all I fit in/wear for breastfeeding!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

sounds like its all going well, good he's gaining weight both mine lost in first week.
Primark are good for cheap vests i used to wear two, pulled one up and one down to feed (avoids too much exposure!) wore with leggins and a slouchy cardi until i got back into my clothes.0 -
Glad all is going well!
I tried some breast feeding tops (bought in a maternity eBay bundle) but they were awful so was glad I hadn't bought new!! I ended up with several Primark tops - both vests and tunic style tops that I could use in the one up, one down manouvre! I found the tunic tops more flattering over the 'wobbly' bits (if you know what I mean?) :rotfl:
Congratulations on the use of vouchers!!
I look forward to hearing more about Baby MW soon
