Well done - that is a HUGE saving!0 -
Thanks DawnW, it does feel good seeing it written down like that. Wow! You are incredibly close to paying off your mortgage, well done!
A much better day today healthwise. Managed to make it to and from antenatal class, despite only 4 hours sleep. If feel ok tomorrow too will try and go into work (although have a doctors appointment first thing for fit note).
On the way home picked up 2 really cute union jack bikini bags from Primarni, £1.50 each. Will be using as nappy wet bags (a quarter of the price of other cheap purpose made ones!). Would have bought one more but these were literally the last ones in the store.
Shattered now, time to get DD a hot drink and put my feet up.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Hi MW
How big are the bikini bags?? I am forever looking for decent (cheap) wet bags - have found hat spending a bit more has been better VFM!!
I was made P/T just before my 12 week scan (boss didn't know) but was better than being on the redundancy list on which several colleagues (and good friends) were!!
So I have decided to go back on the same hours (3 days). I was given the choice of 2 or 3 days but did a spreadsheet (financial bliss would be proud) to work out which we'd be better off with and sadly 3 days it is! Hoping that dd will settle with the care that we choose (prob childminder) but if she doesn't may have to find a new job . . .
Good luck for the next 6 weeks!! I didn't get any mat leave before dd arrived - had to ring work from hosp as she decided 35 weeks cooking time was plenty!!

Hi IH - they are 8 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches, so about the same size as the medium ones sold by the nappy companies, I think.
3 days is a good amount of time to go back - means most of your week is still family time but you can get your teeth back into your job. I have no idea what I'll want to do in terms of hours when I return - and I refuse to think about it for several months too!!
Thanks for your good wishes- and gosh I hope it doesn't come at 35 weeks - that is this week  - and OH is away for 4 days now on a work trip :eek::rotfl:!
£60 food shop yesterday, planning to use slow cooker when OH away so that if I get a migraine there'll still be some hot food ready for DD. Spaghetti bolognaise and chicken dansak the main dishes that am making in bulk (for 8 people) so can feed the freezer.
DD was at her dad's yesterday so after another migraine cleared we started tackling the office. Got rid of loads - and another 70 or so books to check value of on ama$on and then get rid. Going to see if local charity shop will collect as will take me forever to get all this stuff there by trolley!!! More to do, but immense progress made, so feeling v proud.
Today DD has badger's trip, so just about to get dressed and get her to the station with her packed lunch. I don't know whether to ebay as it is free listings weekend, or finish sorting the books in the office.

Am trying to set myself a challenge to not spend more than is in current joint account until payday (31 May).
We have £300 odd (will update once checked), and I think we are due £143 in maintenance = c£443.
and have spent:
£83.50 on childcare to end of month
£32 on shoes from Clark$ for DD today !
£5 on stuff for hospital bag from boot$
£60 on shop this weekend
Budgeting:
£130 on petrol
£120 on two more shops
=£430.50
! It will be very, very close, only £12 in it at the mo. Am just fed up of going into savings a bit each month because we're not keeping an eye on the current account. It is OH's bday too, but am planning to use my personal spend for any treats (we did get him a £600+ camera last month, so don't think he's expecting much!).
I have planned to collect DD straight from school 3 days this week, meaning she'll not need tea time club those days, and skip breakfast club another 3 days, which is a total saving of £28.50.
I am also due a refund of £25 from an ebay seller, which will go into the current account to help offset any unexpected expenses.
I can do this!!
Relisted 3 items on ebay, washed sofa cover to sell (will have to wait for another FLW for that though), done a washload, added 5 books to Ama$on inventory, and have put another 23 on the charity pile. Bought shoes for DD and stuff for hospital bag, took her to station and back by public transport for trip. The spag bol in the slow cooker was very good, very pleasantly surprised! Any reason why I might be knackered??
Need to phone a friend (literally, she has offered to help out this week) and then crash in bed. Only 3 days til OH comes home!!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Trying to greent - it is just not in my nature! When I'm ill I can't do anything, so as soon as I am better I try and make up for it! I have been making sure I've been putting my feet up for at least 2 hours each day.
Last night I sorted through the rest of the book pile - 11 more on ama$on, rest to go. Took one trolley load to charity yesterday and one today (came back with 2 books, and an EAST black wrap jersey dress that is so stretchy I can squeeze into it now, will be perfect for breastfeeding - £8.50 out of personal spend).
I've been offered a cancellation appointment with neurologist this thursday :j:j:j! Several months earlier than expected!! Plus saw midwife yesterday who was quite positive about me possibly being able to go on midwife led ward for birth - need to talk to consultant about it next week. It cheered me up so much, made me realise how down the 'high risk' label is making me. I ended up buying a Natal Hypnotherapy cd off ama$on as first time have felt I can 'prepare' for this birth. Used free prime trial, it came this morning and must say am pleased with it so far - I fell asleep whilst listening and felt really positive afterwards. £11 on personal account:o (although can I justify it by saying it is a few hundred pounds cheaper than a hypnobirthing course, and I plan to sell it after??)
Today I've been doing some flyladying in anticipation of house guests the weekend. Stairs clear of clutter, and hoovered middle floor.
OH home tomorrow night.

Hi MW!
You're on the home straight now and sounds like you are in full-on nesting mode! Hope you are feeling ok, be positive about the "high risk" tag. I have a complaint that meant I had to under the Consultant for my first baby. I read loads to prepare, but my favourite was the Miriam Stoppard book and one thing she said:
"Go into it thinking nothing will go wrong and very little will go wrong"
It became my mantra and worked both times - PMA all the way
Take care and :T:T:T for all the ama$oning and ebaying - you are a tour de force! x0
