assett; stop looking for the FCUK bag!
I had considered putting some money aside to get some for the gift cupboard when I saw them on the website before Christmas but having seen them in person, the bag is really nasty! I'd actually be a bit offended if I opened up a bag like that as I would worry that someone thought that I would like it.
The toiletries contained within the bag are not really enough to go all out for at £11 odd. You can get all of the products for £15ish which nets you twice as much scrub. But, would you still buy it all individually? No, I thought not!
It's lovely and sunny here today, I'm vegging out and have just made a lovely pot of tea. I used to belong to this thread a couple of years ago.
I have a massive stash, too much to list. I never really got into the spirit of the challenge.
Not wishing to make excuses but life intervened, family illnesses and bereavement and all the MSE stuff just had to take a back seat. I have been lurking since the New Year and I probably won't post a lot. But I am blown away by the size of some of your Stashes (Kipling Monkey not only is your Stash awesome, but the fact that you took the time to post your spreadsheet is too). I feel in good company and I do hope it doesn't encourage me to buy more!! I have recently disposed of 6 black bags full of "gone off products". I am not proud of this. I am going to try to UU my lovely stuff that is still in date. My speciality was always buying products opening them practically as I leave the shop, then using half up before going on to the next thing, then the next thing. So good luck to us all for 2012. I hope we all get as much pleasure and enjoyment from our stuff as we can and by the end of the year free up some space in the bathroom, bedroom (and kitchen !!) cupboards xx
Hello my lovely - was only thinking about you the other day, hope you are ok??
just one thing though - there HAS to be some stories if you keep toiletries in your kitchen cupboards.... c'mon lady - tell all !! :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
2 UU's this morning.
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner.
WIBA? Yes, I got them in a gift set for Christmas and I really liked them, got other shampoos and conditioners to get through first though.0 -
Hello lovelies,
Can I haul my ageing carcass back onto the No Toiletry Buying wagon please?
I'm doing another Only Buy What I Need Year. (Although what I "need" is a generous definition including such things as deep conditioning treatments for my hair and foundation!)
On the bright side, I should never need to buy another eye shadow as long as I live.I'm rather well stocked up on that front. My previous overspending is basically a positive when seen in that light, isn't it?
I have a small stock of facial skincare thanks to Christmas, and I bought some litre, and half litre sizes of Joico hair care products in the Bath and Unwind Sale, so my monthly expenditure is going to be mainly hair dye, hair cuts and replacing things such as foot cream and foundation etc as they get used up.
I can't imagine I'll need any make up in this first quarter, or nail polish this decade.
Rightio, off to catch up with the thread. It's looking like a three :coffee: read! :rotfl:Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

I've been wondering about SLS and Silicones lately, it's on of those subjects where once you dip your toe in you feel like your sucked into a bog of confusion and contradiction. It's very difficult to know who to listen to.
the beauty brains website is brilliant, they send you a free report if you give them your email too. they have a book called "can you get hooked on lip balm?" that I've got and its really interesting (and yes, you can get hooked on it :rotfl:)
http://nomoredirtylooks.com/ is good too although they do seem to go with a lot of the scares. their book is also quite good too.
also should add incase any of you use it, it was on beauty brains that herbal essences has been bought by Pantene and the formula changed to the same base as Pantene with a different fragrance in, easier for them to make one load of shampoo than two and people pay more for herbal essences! no point in you all paying more just for it to smell different.I also use more of items when I'm closer to a UU or I don't really like them. Why prolong the agony? It's not very MSE, but I have so much stuff. I probably use about 25-40% more when I'm finishing shower gels off. Everything else the amount is the same. I mean, how much moisturiser can I put on my face?? :rotfl:
I've been using shower gels as bubble bath. works a treat and gets them shifted0 -
Had 2 UU's today, 50ml Melatogenine day cream and 15ml Smashbox primer. So £2 in the pot for both of those.
Had a new SB 'in stock' no suprise there, and have decide to use my last (I think) Philosophy, Hope in a Jar.
also as I have decided NOT TO BUY TODAYS TSV - as I clearly DO NOT NEED IT, I have addded an dadditional £5 to my savings pot. I feel very chuffed about that too!!
Can't remember who suggested it - but I'm going to put together an everyday makup bag. And attempt to use up some of the many, many products I have in those boxes!!

most of the stuff we buy is the same stuff under a different name. theres about 5 big companies that have bought out the competition and pretty much make everything in boots. l'oreal and estee lauder own pretty much all the bigger brands, as well as making their own stuff. i dug out my dissertation to get the big lists they gave me of that they own and:
estee lauder has their own line and bobbi brown, clinique, origins, mac, bumble and bumble and aveda amongst others.
l'oreal has their own line as well as the body shop, lancome, kiehls, redken, biotherm, shu uemura, garnier, maybelline, vichy and la roche posey and more.
makes you wonder if they have 10 different factories, 10 different research labs, 10 different base products etc. i bet they don't.
this is why if you know what the labels actually mean, you can save a heap of money by looking to see if they also make a cheaper version of the product you want to buy that actually is the same stuff but in a different bottle and different price tag.
if you want to know who actually makes your product, somewhere on their website there will be something along the lines of (c) estee lauder companies or (c) l'oreal. it will be at the bottom of a page in tiny font so you will have to look round for it.
edit: if you look at the pantene and herbal essences sites, both are (c) Procter and Gamble. same company, same factory, same formula!0 -
2nd UU of 2012 - Macleans whitening toothpaste. This was a full size freebie. WNBA as not keen on the flavour or consistency and it didn't make my teeth any whiter.
I'm onto my last tube of toothpaste now - a sample sized Oral B pro expert.
Dental stuff are one of the things I tend to multibuy in Boots so I'm amazed this is the last of what I've got left! I'm still convinced I'm going to find more full tubes hiding somewhere, as I think I had about 8 tubes at the beginning of 2011...
Currenly trying to UU Lacura Aqua Complete cream but I think it has made me break out in spots, so will use it as a neck/chest moisturiser instead.0
