You've managed thus far PN..... I'm sure you've got a few more seasons in you. ;)
We all like to think so, but 2011 taught me that it can all come to an unexpected and rapid end.

This time last year I had 2 functioning olds, now I have only one remaining old and they have no marbles.

No, but I think you have more balls. :)

Going to places beyond our comfort zone is painful, but we frequently gain strength from the experience. You have coped extraordinarily well. :A

I think that there are some pitfalls when you're working to regain your fitness. You run at the pace you think you should be running at or that you remember being able to maintain easily, and your body isn't on the same page!

That said, knowing what you're capable of is great motivation and if you put in the time and the miles you'll probably get back up to your old level of fitness surprisingly quickly.

I think my biggest problem arose from allowing my weight to climb when I stopped running, so not only did I have the fitness to regain, but also when weighing more. I have now adjusted my signature which I will update every month, hopefully this will help keep me focused on BOTH my weight and fitness.
