Which is the best & most kinder to the hair colour remover?0

Have decided against using a colour remover. I don't think it would fully remove the hair dye & I think it could potentially damage my hair.
Instead, I was thinking about using a lighter colour all over & although it won't have any effect on the black hair, I'm hoping it would pick out the grey hairs & give a more highlighted effect.0 -
Hello!
I am 28 and have been going grey since my mid teens, it's now probably around 50% I'd guess. My natural hair colour was a very dark shade of brown, almost black so they grey was really obvious and I was getting sick of seeing my roots after just a couple of weeks.
So a few years ago I went lighter and now have very light blonde hair - trouble now I get dark roots too!!! For anyone with a mixture of brown and grey wanting to go blonde the only dye I've found is called Aphrodite blonde by garnier nutrisse - all the others either do nothing or turn the brown hair ginger!
But now I'm sick of spending a fortune maintaining this very light blonde at the salon, so back to home dying maybe....
Thinking of going for a medium brown next - anyone what happens if I put a blonde semi over the top - will it turn it all orange or just pick ups the greys??On a mission to be mortgage free!

Blonde dyes have lightened my hair and caused an ugly yellow cast, so I recently tried L'Oreal's Sublime Mousse 'Flaming Copper' shade for the natural tones and highlights.
The picture on the packet did suggest that it was closest to my natural shade.
Um, riiiiiiiiight. I look like I should be in a kilt screaming "See you, Jimmy!". It's dreadful. It's orange. I look lile a defective Belisha beacon.
Luckily, I keep my hair short so it won't be long before I can put something else on.
But what do I do after this wears out? There's not enough white hair to just let it be, there too much light/white hair to let it go and I can't afford to get it professionally done once a month.
Can anyone recommend a decent dye/shader/toner that doesn't make me look like Russ Abbot's sidekick or like a television on the wonk?
As a red head i would bite the bullet and head to the hairdressers, i never found a red that didn't end up orange on my white hair, my white now wont hold a colour for more than a week or two, so my hairdresser blend's some blonde highlights in, so im now now more of a strawberry blonde, price wise there not much difference in it, as i've gone from spending £10 a month on hair dye and i can get 3/ 4 months at a push before i really need to get my hair sorted and it cost me £30 to have foils run thru the top, i have shoulder length hair tho0
