    HOTELS
    Hi everyone,
Haven't posted on here for probably a couple of years. We alternate our yearly holidays between Orlando and Las Vegas.Last years trip to Florida made it 5 visits to each place, and thought that would be the end of our love affair with the US.But after just 3 days of the new year I was feeling depressed with the thought of no holiday to look forward to.
So after reading the opening pages of the new 2012 thread I couldn't help but look at flights. When we returned from Florida last year,I briefly looked at prices for flights to Vegas, and they were quite a bit higher than we have eve paid before, but a quick look today, and they had a few flight prices just under my " prepared to pay up to " price.I have just booked 5 tickets flying Manchester to Vegas indirect,on the 19th August for 12 nights, for £597.......only £3 under the amount I am prepared to pay, even that is nearly £50 more than the next dearest price we've ever paid.Still prices just keep going up,and if you want to go,you have to pay it.Anyway, for some strange reason the depressing January gloom has suddenly disappeared. Now I need to keep an eye out on here for some good hotel discounts in the next few months.Last time we went in 2010 we got 10 nights at the Mandalay Bay for just over £600......
So another deal like that would be ideal, although we have stayed at Strip hotels and cheap off strip like The Orleans for very little money, and they are all perfectly acceptable.
So I look forward to reading the thread again, and if anyone asks anything which I may be able to help answer, posting now and again.......Happy New Year to all.

I think the phones disappeared along with Sammz who had them.

Might be useful to post a phones tip eg go to Walmart and buy a phone for $30 including $30 of airtime. Anywhere on strip that does cheap phones with air?

I have deleted info about the shared phones....Sammz where are you??

Have added about $30 phones from Walmart but I need more info...what are they for ie local calls, phoning home etc?
I never use a mobile in Vegas

Hi all, I will be back in LV in July flying in from SF, just two of us this time so looking for a good hotel deal too. We were last in LV in 2010 and thanks to this thread got a deal through the players rewards( without being a member) for the Paris hotel and got room for under £40 per room, the $20 dollar trick didn't work for us in the way it's supposed to as the check in clerk gave us the money back and still upgraged us!! The breakfast buffet there was amazing so still tempted but will be happy to try somewhere else too if anyone has any suggestions?

    Good job photome.

    One possible change.......

.......when I was looking in the summer, the zero excess insurance was extra, whereas it used to be included......added about £50 to the cost. Someone better with insurance may want to verify this for me.

Opodo turned out cheaper for carhire.[/LEFT]

    I have just checked CH3000 t and c.

Zero excess for CDW and theft is included in the price unless I am reading it wrong

They do a great job of muddying the water. If its included, why are they flogging this product.......

Ive no specifics, but the last two times, Walmart have had a special for a phone w $30 credit for $30. Two of them great for Mr and Mrs who have gone separate ways eg when I play Poker and Mrs Frog goes to the gym.

Spose you can phone home or home phone you, but the credit wont last long.

Maybe put it donw as a general tip eg Go to Walmart and look at their cheap phones with airtime deals.
