VALUE FOR MONEYWe didn't get the option last time we picked up at the airport. (May 2012) It was one of the Dollar reps at TI that told me I could request a half full tank.0

I also think that sometimes the premium/platinum option does work out cheaper than having the pre-paid fuel paid locally on arrival...I've been known to look up gas prices in Vegas, calculate what I think a tank of gas would cost with the current exchange rate and there have been times that it's worked out a fair amount cheaper to actually book the package that includes a tank of fuel than it would be to buy one at current prices. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

i booked my car via 'netflights' for 1 day rental of a mustang, and selected the option to use 'Dollar'.....
I am a Dollar Express member anyway, but when i made my booking, i choose the 'Platinum' option which is another way of saying full tank of fuel and additional drivers
It cost £41 total (booked in Jan 2011, for use in Jun 2011)..
We did a day trip and used about 92% of the fuel, so the way i see it, it worked out a good deal for us!
When we fly to Los Angeles in May, were booking cars with 'Dollar', doing 1 day rentals, and dropping the car off at Vegas airport (hope theres no out of state charge for this!!!!)....
Works out with a full tank for the mustang, it will cost £50....
Happy with that, as i guess it would cost around £40 - £45 to fill up anyway ?
Just to add, i dont use a credit card.... Only Debit cards...
However, i got x2 of the Pre-Paid cards, the FairFX $ and the normal one....
Loaded about £50 onto the normal one, and then under my account details on the dollar site, entered the credit card number....
Because i pre-paid for fuel, and brits dont pay an Excess anyway, i was never asked for a credit card for the 3 rentals i had with Dollar last year (1 at Vegas, 2 at Orlando)0 -
