I too have just taken a look at lowcostusa and their rates are incredible not sure how they can do them for such a good price. Has anyone used them before and been happy ?

I and quite a few on here have used them. Sound, but if you are concerned pay with CC.
BTW Check out travel supermarket because there are a couple of companies that beat Lowcost on some of the hotels
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Yes payment is upon booking , it is probably worth paying the extra 2% to get the added creditcard protection , hopefully I am worrying about nothing.

I haven't used them myself, but would based on the feedback I have seen here...but I would:

    a) use a CC as you guys have suggested...
    b) book a cancellable back-up...just in case

I'm sure they are fine, but so was CCE until they weren't...and as I would pay lowcostUSA by CC, I would feel protected if they went bust in terms of getting my money back so no worries there...but if it happened close to my departure date, I could be in a world of hurt in terms of finding something else for a reasonable price on short notice.

I've not used lowcost but have in the past used their prices for the booking.com price match guarantee.

I've no idea if booking.com is more or less secure than lowcost, have just always used it.

Just booked a comp night in a 1 bed suite at the Four Seasons that was offered to me 2 years ago because of a small issue. Now that is service.
