VALUE FOR MONEYyou boys are very mean to me.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

I've not used lowcost but have in the past used their prices for the booking.com price match guarantee.
I've no idea if booking.com is more or less secure than lowcost, have just always used it.
In terms of booking.com, how have they been for you? Any problems?
Have just booked with them myself.0 -
Hi , I have also noticed LowcostUSA is offering some of the best rates. I was a little concerned however as I notice they send the hotel voucher two weeks before the visit . Is this practice normal ? I guess this does wonders for their cashflow but is the booking safe, I would hate to get caught up in a Crown Currrency debacle. Thoughts please. Thanks
Would you definitely have to have the voucher? I was thinking the printed out confirmation of booking would be enough?0 -
hi can i just ask your opinions on travel insurance?
we will be 25 (f) & 29 (m) at the time of travel.
should i get insurance now that we have our flights booked? does this normally provide protection if a flight is cancelled or anything?
on travelsupermarket website it is coming in around £35 to £50 for the 2 of us. Does this sound about right for a young couple with no medical conditions etc?
Thanks0 -

Thanks
If that's for a single trip, maybe not...our annual worldwide policy without a (minor) medical condition wasn't a lot more than that...this year was a bit more as we did declare a condition....though I gather that annual policies are normally better value than single trip...if you're not likely to make any other trips in 12 months then maybe not worth it.
I would sort out insurance now if your flights are booked - way too many stories of people without having something unexpected happen and no insurance to cover it. Flights being cancelled are one of the lesser concerns really, I think.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYhi everyone
does anyone know when the next Virgin Atlantic sales will be? I notice that the current sale is (mainly) for flights booked Dec - Mar.
we'd love to go in June, but certainly can't justify the £777pp flight cost at the moment (and don't fancy doing a 1-stop flight)0 -
I'm another one that has used LowCostUSA without incident, but the past is no indication of the future and yes we were asked for the hotel voucher.0

Definitely get travel insurance as soon as any travel arrangements are booked that you can't afford to replace. As ferf said, this site is littered with people who were going to get it "later" or "nearer the time". There is no cancellation cover in place in the event of illness or accident until the insurance is bought.
You also need to make sure that it takes effect immediately. There was one guy on here that took out an annual policy to start on 1 August, which was several weeks away, as he thought it would be a good date to remember for renewal. He had an accident and broke his leg on 28 July and lost the total cost of his honeymoon which I think was £5,000.

what baffles me (slightly) about LowCostUSA is their odd pricing mechanism... for example, 4 nights at the Tropicana:
Deluxe Room
Excludes daily Resort Fee of $15 per room
£193 Book
Deluxe Room
Includes daily Resort Fee of $15 per room
£197 Book
so £1 per night extra to cover the resort fee costs? - odd0 -
What are views on luxor vs excalibur vs ballys? And how much better than these is monte carlo?0
