They were so lucky to end up in your shed. I noticed you're in the East Mids, I'm in Nottm. I save an advert from the local free paper about cheap vaccinations which might be helpful if there's a clinic near you. This is the webiste http://www.easipetcare.com/vaccination-clinics0

I use the easipetcare vets in burton (one of the branches of the company mentioned by the poster above)- and they are brilliant. Have a look on their website to see if theres one near you. We've had both cats vaccinated there, along with the rabbits. One of the rabbits had an operation for their teeth which was done far cheaper than other vets, and the kitten had his bits of there too with no problem. I'd certainly look into using them for the vaccinations & microchipping as they work out so much cheaper.
I have one of our cats insured with pets at home, for a for life policy it has worked out pretty cheap but have never claimed with them, we have also used pdsa insurance which was pretty cheap too, but again haven't claimed with them so don't know how good they are.
And yes we need pics!

I've just insured my three cats with MoreThan through Quidco. It cost between £5.50 and £6.60 per month (for some reason the younger ones were a bit more than the oldest this time) but I get £40 cashback through Quidco. Not sure if they offer exactly what you want, but may be worth a look.

Don't touch these with a bargepole, huge excess costs quote:
Cats Under 9 years £50 + 10% of the rest of the cost of the veterinary treatment9 years and over £50 + 20% of the rest of the cost of the veterinary treatment

I use PetPlan, yes they cost a lot more... but they are a 'for life' insurance company. This means I get £4k per illness, per year... so if one has diabeties I just pay the excess each year and they pay the rest.
My Princess (I can only appologise for the name... my son chose it!) got injured last year... it came to over £2000... not only did they pay it all (minus excess) but when her renewal came it only went up the normal 'inflation' amount.
At one point they were talking as though this was going to be an ongoing joint disease... this would have meant paying for medication year in, year out... and most companies would have stopped paying after 1 year! So at that time we really felt like it was worth the money.
The biggest issue is... it really does cost a lot more money. So shop around and buy what's best for you!
Ps. Would love to see pictures too....!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Happy new year to you all
Id be delighted to share photos if someone could tell me how. Ive been getting quotes with lots of companies for genuine life policies. The best ive found was with Argos. The 2 new Kittens both approx 9 weeks Female - £6.08p and Male £8.02p and the older 6 year olds £8.88p Male and £6.73p Female so around about £30 a month and if I do them each as individual policies £28 cash back via Quidco -hopefully. Thats for £7k for life cover. Any comments would be most welcome. I should point out with the older 2 even though theyve ben insured since we had them weve never claimedMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
That's a pretty good price ... I pay just under £19 for my 2!
No personal experience of Argos so will leave that to others, but from what I've heard they seem good & pay out without hassle.
Now ... the important bit .... pics!:D
You need to upload your pic to a hosting site eg Photobucket
Once done, choose the link in "IMG CODE" and copy it

All mine (6 cats and a dog) are insured with Argos Platinum (7k for cats 10k for dog) - so far no problems and claimed a lot for one of the cats as he had an op on both legs...0

Ooh and we definitely need pics - I have kitten fever at the moment
I am with MoreThan and they were very good at paying out when my lad was seriously ill earlier in the year. Lovely customer service as well.0 -
I would also see if your vets deal direct with an insurer.
A couple of months ago my cat ended up having to go for emergency out of hours treatment. I was insured with Halifax at the time and the vets only dealt direct with Petplan. If I had been with them, I would have just paid the excess and the vets would have sent the bills to PP....as it was, I had to pay the £600 it cost upfront and then claim it back which took about 7 weeks.0
