I've managed to get hold of OH's bank statement (though I'm now in troube :o he noticed straight away that they were missing, which I'm quite surprised by :o) Anyway, in my debt calculations I assumed worst case that he was at his overdraft limit. Turns out he was over it  Over that now but it does mean that my starting debt was higher than stated, debt reduction therefore also higher than stated  Plus made monthly loan payment yesterday so....

#77 £1,264.19/£16,660.26 7.59% :T:T Kind of makes me feel better that it looks as though I've clawed back the damage from christmas ;)

Going to try and get some eBay listings done this weekend, too. OH has also agreed to go through his books for Amazon listings. Had a good sort out a while back and got a bag of clothes that are no good for ebay that have been divided up into charity shop donations and items I can cut up and use for sewing projects, to save a little money on making gifts for the year. :T

Just blew my NSD by purchasing Clinique gift set for my Mum as her birthday present for July (I know it's an early buy but at that price... plus cashback). £78 down to £39 and it's a home + away kit, so you get more than £78 worth of goodies, yay.

Took back suit to Next, so when that £34 goes on it's going straight to Freemans. No debt payments today though :(

  • Yes, you pay a little extra for scheduling stuff. It's a PITA really, as I often don't have time to list Thursday evening, but worth it if you can!

Wesker on PAD has said listing something to start on monday, then going in the day before and changing it to start immediately means you don't get charged... might be worth a try to get your stuff listed and you can pop on to start immediately on thursday? x

    Hello all, Happy New Year!

First post of the year as I've finally had all statements through and made my monthly debt payments from January wages. Made payments to cc's totalling £212 today bringing my new overall total to:

    #157 - £282/£20300

Always feel very depressed at the amount eaten up by so much interest :(, but try to keep in mind that this will go down a little at a time as I make my payments. I will get there!

I'd also like to add myself to the weightloss challenge:

    # 157 - 16 lbs to lose

Hope you're all having a good day! x

  • Regarding the eBay listings- if you do all your listing as normal, but schedule it to start say a week away, then go and revise it to start when you want to you don't get charged the 6p. I always schedule it for furthest away date just to make sure!

    Hello again all!

I forgot to add in my last post how I'm doing on the challenge to only eat from cupboards/freezer this week.

Really good timing for me as I'm preparing to start a kind of elimination diet (called FODMAP) to identify my IBS triggers. So, there is quite a lot of stuff in our cupboards that I won't be able to eat until I've got to the reintroduction of food stage after 6-8 weeks. OH won't eat these things on his own so it's a great opportunity clear the freezer and cupboards, and of course is saving money on the grocery shop for the first couple of weeks of the month at least! After that I will have to spend some money but I'm trying to plan so carefully to keep to a minimum.

Oh dear! I think DH is finally starting to take this dfw challenge seriously. Today is dress down day at work and we all pay £1 (to chariteee) for the priviledge. However DH has for the first time ever, come dressed as usual. His reasoning - "We can't afford both of us to do it." This from the guy who's just booked 2 nights away for £80 with his overdraft!:rotfl::rotfl:

I reckon he just wanted to wear his new pants that, at last, fit him ;)
