I think you underestimate the amount of STUFF in boxes that haven't seen the light of day since at least Dec 2010  It is sort of a big change but then he only lived on his own for 6 months before he met me as he was with his ex for 8 years.... Ok, so I can get rid of some of my stuff too but he also has to consider that a lot of this stuff he bought when he was with her or a student so it's either cheap and not worth keeping or I don't want it cos it was HERS.

Anyway, I'll get over it... he just thinks I love arguing and I don't, I hate it as it makes me feel poop. :( He has gone to bed now but I didn't want to go with him so I'm just checking MSE and FB etc...

Oh dear, men and their 'stuff' you'd think you were trying to remove one of their limbs every time you suggest they get rid of their tea stained Duran Duran t'shirt . Agree with the softly softly approach . . with a bit of bolshiness chucked in 'which one of these flasks do you want to keep? im chucking 'insert random item of your own here' in the bin so i'll take the other two flasks with me'

DH is very resilient to change . . thats why he has a shed :rotfl:. He has learnt early 'if you want to keep that bit of tat, put it in the shed as jakesmum likes to do random declutters and will chuck anything away thats in a cupboard' He has always responded well to questions that only require 'that one' as an answer, if I said 'what are you doing with these?' he would say 'i'll put them in the shed, leave em by the back door' and there they stay for 6 months :rotfl:

EDIT: actually talking about ex stuff, I found a ring yesterday in a random box under the stairs and its you lot talking about ex's that made me remember his ex gave it too him :rotfl: we've been together 15 years, it comes to light every few years, and gets put to one side again, and has never reached the bin (it was cheap). It really doesnt bother me, not sure i'd be so accomodating to 'i wuv you' teddies though, but thats more because i'd want to puke than any other reason :rotfl:

Exactly. I hate tat like that, I tell him I love him every day, I don't need to give him a heart that says it on... he's a man not a kid! plus.... I buy him thoughtful stuff like 'the very hungry caterpillar' toys because it's an in joke and if we ever split up it's unlikely to get thrown away as it's a kids toy! ;) mwhahahahaha! xxx

I once sent DH a dozen pink roses for valentines day . . and had them delivered to his home . . . it was amusing to me . . . mostly because he rented a room off his ex girlfriends parents and she still lived there too :rotfl:. Oh I used to love it when people found out his living arrangements 'your BF lives with his ex and her parents??' umm yep, and I sleep over there regularly too :rotfl::rotfl:. She moved out before he did :o and he only moved out because our Jake decided to make an appearance :rotfl:

lol well a child is the most long standing gift! :rotfl:no forgetting you then!

It is odd how women do things like that to amuse themselves. I mean I don't think we will split up but just in case I am making sure I am everywhere haha! Also, never met his ex, he never ever speaks of her and nor do his friends/family but she still makes me jealous :( just the thought of her I guess - they were together for a long time... but I guess I win because I am the first girl he's lived with! woop!

  • Haha I love petty triumphs RD chick! I don't win unfortunately as they lived together for 6 years, he just doesn't get my problem with it.

Anyway, today is a new day and hopefully no arguing :( I've just been to hospital and there is more going on with my ears than realised, so I'm now awaiting one possibly two operations. Think I have to hang up my wings and say goodbye to the orange one. *cries*

I always think if any of his previous GF's had been all that he would have stayed with them ;) He always was a 'long term' kind of bloke, but im the longest, the only one he bought a home with and the only one to get THE ring, so in his eyes I must be the most special person hes ever met :D
