Eeep I've got butterflies I'm that excited about my bed coming tomorrow. Feels similar to the excitement before a hot date, or a job interview. Eep!!! Still haven't told the OH either, going to try to keep it secret until he's back from Canada.
Is it me or is this thread quiet recently?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

It has definitely quietened down Kerri.
Congrats to everyone who has moved, got tax rebates or paid off a debt
I'm now 2.5 pounds lighter than this time last week so:

Me and OH are constantly arguing right nowWe NEVER normally argue. He just doesn't get that I want him to want to sort his flat out in order to make room for my stuff... I bought a car load of stuff over earlier and started sorting through his kitchen cupboards to make room for some of my stuff and he doesn't want to chuck anything out which is soooo not helpful. Who in their right minds needs 2 pizza cutters, 15 bottle openers, 5 different types of carpet cleaner when you never clean your carpet, 3 giant flasks which haven't been used since before I knew him.. that is just for starters! he then gets @rsy with me for being sarcastic or saying I won't bother moving in then, and still won't accept that he should be making room for my stuff!!!!!

That sounds tough psychobabble, but it must be a big change for him as well. You could try hiding one item a week in a box and see if he notices? I think there's always a bit of resilience when someone moves into your space though rather than starting anew and on a level playing field. I'd move things that he has duplicates of into a box and if they haven't been used within a set timeframe get him to agree to get rid of them, fleabay or whatever. But remember to get him to think it's his idea

I think you underestimate the amount of STUFF in boxes that haven't seen the light of day since at least Dec 2010  It is sort of a big change but then he only lived on his own for 6 months before he met me as he was with his ex for 8 years.... Ok, so I can get rid of some of my stuff too but he also has to consider that a lot of this stuff he bought when he was with her or a student so it's either cheap and not worth keeping or I don't want it cos it was HERS.
Anyway, I'll get over it... he just thinks I love arguing and I don't, I hate it as it makes me feel poop.He has gone to bed now but I didn't want to go with him so I'm just checking MSE and FB etc...

Oh!:eek::eek: Is he showing complete resistance to getting rid of anything? Other than one of those declutter tv progs, I'm not sure what to suggest....I don't really have much experience of moving in with boys yet
Hope you're ok xx
Thank youI'll be fine, just getting annoyed with it which then stresses me out which then stresses him out. I'm hoping it's just a phase... it's my first time ever living with a boyfriend so I hope it works out better than right now!

Psycho, when I moved in with the boy there was lots of bits and bobs of his ex kicking around (they didn't live together but it was stuff like 'I love you' teddies -burgh! And cups and stuff) it broke my heart every time I saw them so I got a bag and one day collected up the teddies and put them in a bag (they weren't like out they were tucked in drawers and stuff) and stuck them under the bed, there was also things like cheap earrings and things too... When we moved into our house I got the bag out from under the bed and when we were packing to move I just said to him do you still want to keep this tat? Showed him the bag and he was like errrr no... So it went lol! However if I left him to it I don't know if it would still be in the garage or whatever... Made me feel ruddy good anyway, haha xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0
