hmmmmm not above a little sabotage eh...? I'll remember that Pedro!New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
Debt at Highest: £43,073 :eek:0 -
KarenAnn, I know what you're feeling I was like this a few months ago when the same company offered me an early settlement price. I turned them down, as they are still going to offer it to me however many months later. Just because it's there now, don't believe them when they say it won't be there in x amount of days.
Thanks, the problem is that the debt hasn't been sold on, they are just acting for Ll0yds. I will prob pay it and ebay like crazy so we can eat! I will defo be checking out the cheap meals thread!Trying hard...failing miserably

Another day, another dollar. Another small step towards our massive bid for freedom by Christmas. Every small step closer we get, the more of a slog is seems but the nearer the debt free day comes. One day these sad skint times will just be a memory and bad experience, a learning one though. So not so bad after all.
Never realised until today how many people are actually in debt. Even on the face of it, they may have near new motors, holiday booked, night out every weekend, who is to say it is actually there own hard (already earned) cash that they are spending. One day they will wake up and have there very own light bulb moment and realise by that time i will be debt free and infact miles ahead of them yet just now, on the face of it, it seems a different story.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Ooh *looks up* I see flirting!!!
My AF order arrives tomorrowNo debt-busting update from me today, although I have £768 in savings  and I cancelled my Lloyds OD this morning before I went to work, I'd had that since I was 18yo (8 years!) and have never been in the black since I got it.
The savings aren't proper savings, they're my annual pot (£200) plus my second purse for bargain shopping (£67) plus £500 towards my F&F, but at least they look the bank accounts look lovely and healthy
Does anyone have a good falafel wrap recipe? I've got falafels and matzah (sp?) ball mixes arriving tomorrow and have no idea how to make them or what to do with them.I don't even know what a matzah ball is though?! Is it like a dumpling?

Ooh did a bit of accidental debt-busting today as I tried to log on to my Barclays account and it wouldn't let me, couldn't find any info online about anyone else having a problem and panicked thinking I'd been ID-frauded or something, so rang them and checked - was just a web issue thankfully, but cancelled the account anyway while I was there! That'll teach them to have web site problems :rotfl:0

I'm in exactly the same position, I got a letter from Lloyds the other day giving me a 6 month update on my arrears, the account is just managed by the DCA. But even though they've not bought the debt, they still give me quotes for settlement
Although paying off such a huge amount would be awesome
Oooh! I thought there wasn't much point in negotiating with them...have your offers gone down or stayed the same though. My collection agency is C$L, is that yours?Trying hard...failing miserably

Might be worth seeking some financial advice from CCCS or someone similar who deals with this kind of thing all the time.

Hi j-m, hope today is a better day for you. Thinking of ya!
I finished my fourth long day shift yesterday, so that is the end of my working week-hurrah! I was just having a doze this am, when work phoned asking me to do an Overtime shift tonight. My MSE conscience says 'Yes, I should do this' particularly with a v spendy Friday coming up...more on that later.:o However my poor achy legs are roaring 'NO' ! So it looks as if I'm staying at home watching the snow fall again!
How is yr OH settling in to Canadian life Kerri?'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0
