I've been reading the "7 dinners and £10, can it be done?" thread and I feel truly humbled.
I spend a ridiculous amount of money on food each month and waste soooo much. I can make all sorts of excuses as to why but the fact is that if things got incredibly bad then I could live on next to nothing. What I am doing is spending on wants and not needs. Why do I view food as any different to non-food items??? I would never dream of buying £100's of carp each month and not use it so why is food any different!!! I really need to get to grips on this as I am 1 person so my food bill should be about £150 a month MAX but it's probably AT LEAST double this...
I need to make sure I don't go too mad though as many of the frugal recipes involve a lot of stodge and I love my fruit and veggies. I just need to make sure that whatever I buy I eat and MEAL PLAN!!! I am sooooo rubbish at this and tend to just eat whatever I feel like rather than use things up.

Ooh *looks up* I see flirting!!!
My AF order arrives tomorrowNo debt-busting update from me today, although I have £768 in savings  and I cancelled my Lloyds OD this morning before I went to work, I'd had that since I was 18yo (8 years!) and have never been in the black since I got it.
The savings aren't proper savings, they're my annual pot (£200) plus my second purse for bargain shopping (£67) plus £500 towards my F&F, but at least they look the bank accounts look lovely and healthy
Does anyone have a good falafel wrap recipe? I've got falafels and matzah (sp?) ball mixes arriving tomorrow and have no idea how to make them or what to do with them.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Well done though
Don't worry, we're only 3.5months in so there's plenty of time to catch up. Plus you've had some big unexpected spends this month so you're doing brilliantly despite that :A xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Nope, you definitely need to spend much more on food. In fact, why not double it?0 -
