Have you read the first thread you've ever started recently? I just did, I am like a little kid bouncing around with one thought to another! It was also featured in the newsletter back in July and CCCS tweeted about it too.. Was brilliant, was just so relieved not to have to go on a DMP as that's what I thought my option was.. 7 months ago... Still got the same debts! In 7 months time they will be gone (mostly)

Darling OH wears underarmour for golf and bought one for me to run in. It's so comfy and does exactly what Kerri says. I would definitely recommend it.
Belated birthday wishes Jemma, and sorry to hear about your experience with the waiter\family. I know how you feel, my whole family would do this to me with a family friend who they "thought I should be with". Worst thing was they would do it when my (then) boyfriend was there with me at the time. They hated him! Totally embarrassing. :rotfl:0 -
Hi All, I have finishedmy latest 4x12 hr shifts and have emerged into the daylight like a little pit pony, blinking at the sight of daylight and then turning cartwheels (mental ones, certainly not physical ones-ha ha!) at the prospect of a few days off. The children are delighted to see their mother again - that soon wears off when I start bugging them about doing their homework, reminding then to do their chores around the house and all the other things that Dad is not too strict about!
Jemma, I feel yr pain- sitting at YOUR bday meal listening to all those smug marrieds! When people used to ask me when I was gonna 'settle down'- dreadful expression-I just used to say brightly 'Well you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince'. That would make them turn red at the thought of my wildly exciting passionate encounters...anything to shut em up-ha ha.'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0 -

Nah I'm a softie really, just know how to defend myself if someone attacks me
I started in my first year at uni and spent most of it at the bar as the social side was great but at least I know what to do if I get bottled, knifed, strangled or generally roughed up. Think it will be a surprise as I don't look like I could hurt anyone but I thrown guys at 20st over my shoulder in training which is good fun! :rotfl: Honestly everyone should try it as it's fab getting thrown about and you mustn't forget the drinking side of it... :rotfl:
I used to do a fair bit in my younger days, my uncles used to a kickboxing and Aiki Jitsu class, but probably the best thing i did in my mid twenties was join a local amateur boxing club
I swear after the first week I thought i was going to throw up or die or both, the fitness was that gruelling, really put you through your paces. But you know what I loved it, thats the aim now to get back down to that kinda weight I was when I was doing that.
Plus people think its strange that you can have so much fun in basically knocking the s**t out of each other, but it also bonds people too. Another Sunday, another $400 for the kitty. Wish I could set up a direct debit at the bank for my weight to be withdrawn...each week I put a lot of energy into job, family, juggling money so I can continue to chip away at the debt...so weightless is right at the bottom of my To Do list!
We are all waiting with bated breath for the next mini-challenge. So far I haven't done v well with the challenges, but they sure spice things up a bit !
I went to the bank last week to see about opening up a Tax Free a/c for DH. They are a bit like your ISAs but we deposit less funds. I haven't got any cash to put into the account mind; I just want to know that the account is set up and ready to use in December when we will all be (Drum roll please)... DEBT FREE!!!:T
Another $400 for #249 Canucksfan which brings total to: $2500/$17418.95 Weight: 3.7/70'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0 -
Just did my finances again and all being swell I can chuck on average about £400 on top of my minimum payments making me debt free (to the bank) by March 2013 latest, I haven't factored in my birthday or any bonus either.
I will be overdraft free by my 24th birthday (which is an amazing thought in itself) and it all looks a bit rosey!
I have also just found my login details for my santander account so can now change all my direct debits to that account, except the nasty Halifax stuff (all my debt is will Halifax - how loyal of me) so I can then leave the extra £300 in my overdraft, end of March will see charges come down to £30 a month instead of the horrid £60 which is good and means quicker to pay it off!
Best friend is sad because her hubby doesn't want to take her to Edinburgh to see the baby pandas at the zoo (she is obsessed by animals and it would be an ultimate birthday for her) and I wish I could take her, the cheapest option would be to fly there but still pricey, she's even looking at cheap holidays, will have to tell her I might have to duck out of it as I can't really afford the £89 holiday to Spain for 3 nights (all inclusive... desperate for a holiday so it's a bit of a bummer, now my folks know I will have no chance of getting away with it!)
Which leads me onto South Africa... who am I kidding, I can't go there... I can't afford the flights (around £600-£800 ) so I will have to let down the boyfriend too... will tell him he can go on his own though, he did in 2010 to see his best friend, the whole point of going this year was to meet me but needs must... and next September we could go and I could pay for it outright (if I get into the RAF as my basic training will finish then and I will have uber pennies (from not being able to shop whilst in training!!)) so I guess that's something.
Debts are ruddy horrid. All the more reason to pay them off ASAP!
Happy Sunday Guys! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Steph that's such a breakthrough point for you
well done xx
I have one word to say about a couple of people last night, actually it's an action you can all do *sniggers*. With palm facing away from you and fingers half together, flex your pinky in a wiggly way, give a wince and the say "syndrome"... you'll get it when you do the action. Some people need to learn that making inappropriate jokes about my OH when he's not there, or ignoring me because you've previously treated my OH like crud is just not acceptable
I was DWF though, I stayed sober for the evening so didn't spend a penny and took a little tub of lemoncurd as a presentwhich was very much enjoyed.
