  • Listed my stuff on ebay, including my boots :(. I have 2 items with bids on already and watchers for all the rest. I listed one item at 3pm and by 6 a lady had already been to collect it and paid cash. That will go in our house saving fund though.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

eddi it was easy for me cos I mainly watched an expert :D
We used a cooking thermometer too - same boiling point as jam - it took ages to get to the correct temperature but it wont set unless you get hot enough - it means it is the right fruit/sugar/liquid ratio. V scientific ;)
    Good luck

Blimey, sounds complicated. I'm definitely going to have a go though. In the absence of an "expert" to watch I just found this recipe on the Beeb food website :)

    Hi All
Another Sunday and another $400 transferred in to pay off the Credit Card Bills. Here in Canada we get paid every two weeks and pay out mortgage every two weeks too. That means we do not have to wait too long for the next payday and it is good for amortization too. Good to hear you are all doing so well - a big Cheer to Kerfuffle as she goes back to her career! I am continuing to average 1 overtime shift every week, but I am getting T-I-R-E-D. Also the children start causing problems at school cos I am not around to keep an eye on what they are getting up to! Paying off this stupid debt is always on my mind. I keep thinking 'Ooh I better not buy xxx cos I won't be able to scrape together the next $400 for the bills'. Does this sound familiar?!? Just wish not-so-DH shared in this. We have spent a whole week of snow falling everyday with no central heating. Kids all have fan heaters in their rooms, but I do not like being cold. I asked him to get a P/T job (there's loads of dishwashing/snow shovelling etc which pays well)-ANYTHING would do, as he works four on / five shifts off...but nowt comes of it. They old saying really is true..,.'When money goes out the window, love goes out the door'.
Keeping up with all your stories makes me smile - keep up the great work! xox

Grr my DLA still hasnt gone in :( was 22nd last month and I honestly thought its supposed to be every 4 weeks, hope this doesnt mean that they've decided the woman who cant walk more than 30 mtrs is actually able to walk as far as she likes :( oh if only I could :(

I always feel a bit guilty when I use my DLA for household bills as its supposed to be to make my life easier, but I cant afford not to  once all these horrible debts are gone DH said I should look at getting a mobility car (if thats still an option with all these reforms) as ours is dying and we cant afford a new one. If I didnt have the car i'd be stuck in this bloomin house again so im slowly coming round to the idea, its just again using what I see as other peoples money to rent myself a luxury, its even got to be quite big so I can get the mobility scooter in the back :(

Sooo, today is my last day of the month so will do a pre-payday update...

    #077 £1,769.08/£16,660.26 10.62%
    12lbs/63lbs lost

Again, not been a great month but also not terrible. One more month or so and OH's overdraft should be gone, which is great. (It wasn't my intention to pay that one first but it's the only one that's his alone and it's been bothering him so we decided to get rid of it as was relatively small).
