peabody i heard a thing on the radio saying that most people were staying in this year as its so expensive to go out.
oooh thanks scarlett.
lol roo has just chucked up all over me!!0 -
We're probably going round to a friends house - they live a 5 min walk away from ours but don't think we'll hang around long after seeing in the NY as I'm now knackered after not sleeping last night! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I was meant to be going to a friend from baby groups and we were having a meal and staying over but i managed to get a sickness bug yesterday and was in bed most the day and still not feeling great so think will stay in now. Have managed to pass bug onto OH and he has to work tonight so feel a bit guilty.
Also Poppy wouldn't settle down last night and was screaming on and off for about 2 hours at 2 am which is just what you want.Hoping she isn't feeling poorly and thats whats unsettling her.0 -
Afternoon missy!
Your goals and resolutions look fantastic - quite inspirational.
As for meeting mummys and attending baby groups, have you used the netmums website? They have 'meet a mum' boards and local groups of mums who arrange meet ups etc - some with babies and some without.
They also advertise baby groups and exercise groups to combine more than one of your goals. I found a 'buggy walk' group by me, it's an hour walk in the park with the pram combined with a few simple exercises and things like relays and is a great way to talk to new mums. I've also signed baby up for swimming which we start in a fortnight which I found on there. Plus it was a local company who are only charging £33 for 6 weeks, whereas my friend paid something like £125 through water babies!!
Hope that all makes sense! I'm lucky that a friend from work had her baby 12 weeks before me so we're both off on maternity together and hold each others hand when we brave new groups and activities ...
It is so nice to talk to other mums though!
And in answer to what are we all doing tonight - staying in! We've invited some friends over and will maybe play some board games. Sad I know.

hey loumac, strange you should say that, i have just given baby a bath and let him float about a bit which he loved and i thought about going to a swimming class with him. i will have a look on line in a min, roo is screaming, think hes hungry but hes got another 45mins, will see if he calms down, if not i'll have to feed him early, he was a bit sick earlier.
I've looked on netmums before but didnt find many people near me, maybe i wasnt looking in the right place, will have a look again in a bit, thank you hun x0 -
sorry wendz i didnt see your post, poor you!! Its horrible feeling poorly, even worse when you're tired, if its any consolation feel free to join me on here, not sure i will stay up until 12 though but I'll have a good go

Well I'll let you know how we get on! Some pools make them wait till a certain age due to the water temp but others are able to take them from teensy baby.
Also, have a look on netmums at advertising your new business. Loads of other people seem to do it.
Also, I was just saying on another diary (forgotten which already! baby brain!), have you looked at selling through facebook? Loads of people seem to advertise businesses on there. I bought most of my xmas pressies through peoples pages supporting local crafts etc.
((Hugs)) to wendz, totally missed that you were poolie. Hope you feel better soon. xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
oooh looks like I'll have to get myself on facebook then!
Seriously its NYE and theres nothing on tv! Hark at me and my rock and roll life style, I'm even pairing up OH's socks, somebody stop me now!!

Ha! I just throw my DH's socks into the drawer, it's either that or leave them in the washing basket as he'd never bother otherwise. He can pair them if he needs them - or wear odd!

And as for being rock and roll - go back to my previous comment on playing board games tonight!
