i would be a bit unhappy, but i wouldn't spend hours trying to remedy the situation.
i suppose we are all different though - thank god - just imagine how rubbish the world would be if everyone got worked up about the smallest most trivial things!
MSE is a bit like that though to be fair. Storm in a teacup kind of place especially at Christmas.I love it. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Should it make any difference whether the voucher was for £5 or £50?
It was given as part of a promotion and therefore forms part of the contract of sale and it was a voucher issued by a shop which is part of a national chain and there was nothing stated on it limiting its redemption to certain places.
This board is entitled "Praise, Vent & Warnings", and isn't that exactly what the OP is doing, venting their feelings about being given a voucher that they don't seem to be able to redeem locally.0 -

fair enough point, but there has to come a time when you step back from the situation and question the amount of time and effort you are putting into a problem for the possible reward.
I would suggest a fiver isn't worth getting your knickers in a twist over.0 -

Yes - a world of difference. £50 is a significant amount and £5 isn't.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Depends on your perspective. If you were on the minimum wage you might well see that differently.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

yeah, for someone to drive any distance at all to try and redeem a five pound voucher is just a bit silly to me. by the time you get in your car, park somewhere, find store, look for item, spend time in queue etc (all during the busiest shopping time of year) it's just not worth it for a fiver.
perhaps the OP could have done something more constructive with her time instead, maybe spend time with family?
I suppose, we shouldn't judge though.0 -

No we shouldn't judge but misleading or incorrect thread titles get my goat a bit. Like when someone says they've been ripped off but it turns out that they themselves made the mistake.
I've posted threads in the past about stuff I was incensed about and folk have just gone "Huh?" You just have to learn to live with it. Or just moan to your mates in real life who are more likely to agree with you.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Good point but then
a) I wouldn't spend money on travelling around to spend the voucher I'd sell it on ebay.
b) Might not've bought a new PS3 for a present - second hand would've been more money saving.
Thing is MSE attracts all sorts. I like the consumer advice and the banter and don't particularly need ways to scrimp and save. i might at some point but right now I don't. You can't assume all posters are skint.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Until it goes wrong and you don't have a guarantee or the SOGA to fall back on.
If that was to happen then buying secondhand wouldn't be quite so moneysaving.0 -

I don't buy second hand stuff but I should imagine there would be some sort of limited warranty if it was bought from Game or somewhere like that.
Anyway let's not get off topic any more and spoil this lovely little vent.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
