Thanks Shaggy. Can I go with a terrifying TF please?
Had an awful night with the anxiety monster giving me cold sweats and very little sleep again. On the plus side, had much less to drink and got that "ooo, that nap felt quite deep and refreshing" feeling, which is always a sign that I haven't drank "far" too much (just too much:o)
I'm trying how to get out of potentially a 6 person round tonight without raising suspicions (DW will be with us, and its only right to buy in rounds isnt it?). Oh, I will have a few drinks, it's just that more and more recently we complete a full round, making Saturday morning a hungover one, making going to the gym even less attractive, making going to the pub for lunch MUCH more attractive, and of course, one can't stay in on a Saturday night, and well, its a Bank Holiday Sunday, with TWO days to recover, so what the hell...... and so the whole cycle begins again, and when Wed morning comes, its a long way down.:(:(:(:(:(:(
Sorry to go on - I think I am just starting to get an idea of the process that is taking what used to be (just) a couple of nights of drinking too much, and turning it into the start of a full binge, ending in at best, a painful come down, at worst.....
I think I might put dinner on a slow heat in the oven for two hours so that we HAVE to be home by "x" time.
Well fingers crossed, and I hope everyone manages to keep to what they intend to, however much that may be.:cool:Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general0 -
Oh markman the whole round thing , well the way I got out of that is to buy a bottle of wine for the 2 of you and then just say we have the bottle so no thanks we will keep out of the round tonight. I found lots of people were glad the round thing had been broken.

Evening all!
Sorry to have been AWOL. Got a few pages to catch up on!
Been so busy here, with one thing or another. Seem to have been falling into bed every night exhausted!
Spent a lot of time with my best friend. Good news today - her tumour was benign and she should be fine once recovered from the surgery (which was pretty extensive). I broke down at work when she rang me - think it was playing on my mind more than I thought. Then I rang my Mum to tell her, and she broke down too...making me feel better!!:D
Also been busy planning a "small" family gathering for Sunday for the Jubilee (as some of you know, I'm rather an ardent royalist:o). Has morphed into a party of about 25 people!:rotfl: Will be fun thoughas I feel now, with the news of my friend, that I have something worth celebrating at last.
Hope you all are well.....Pricey...did you manage that AF weekend. I didn't

Just swinging by to say hi, wish everyone a happy BH and an AF one too.
I'm now at 2mths AF and haven't missed it at all. Even when the sun was out last week which was quite a trigger in the past. I saw was numerous people staggering around in the afternoon after far too many and very very burnt pink and I didn't miss having a drink one bit.
I'll be going for another month AF and this year is the year I have drunk the least alcohol (some days in March only) since I started drinking years ago

I always drink it in hotels for some reason (like tomato juice on a plane...)
Sounds nice - will give this a go and thanks!
Also forgot to say hi to Shaggy, Miss P and maman and an extra special well done to Shaggy for still scoring those targetsfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Thanks for dropping by with your good wishes sparkles, and well done on your AFness.:T:T:T
I'd like to add my thanks to Shaggy for the scoring, it's certainly made a huge difference to keeping me on the straight and narrow.
Have a good weekend MissP. I'm no royalist but I'm not a killjoy either and I hope you have a good time this weekend. I've thought of you often recently when I've seen the 'Keep Calm and Carry On' stuff in the shops. Great news about your friend.0 -
Morning :hello:
Had a couple of drinks last night, probably 3 or 4 units.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
