Also booked a holiday in June last night so an incentive to be good to lose a bit of weight before the horror of trying on the bikinis:eek:

Yay to the holiday and good luck with the diet!:D
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I was thinking last night, I have been coming on here about a year now. Lots of things have changed in that year. Unfortunately lots of things haven't. We're back up to an average 2 1/2 bottles a day now :( I know there's not much I can do about it, but it is on my mind a lot. Health reasons, financial reasons, general behaviour and responsibilites reasons. That quantity everyday is just wrong on so many different levels.

Hi MrsR. If I could change one thing in my life it would be my DH's drinking. My lovely, kind, funny husband of over 30 years who cannot go a day without a drink, who works out all the whens, wheres and hows of getting a drink before considering any outing or invitation (which he usually refuses anyway), who is depressed and overweight and refuses to believe either have anything to do with his drinking and who is often either argumentative or comatose by 9pm.

Like you it's on my mind a lot. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing makes any difference. He says that he has a stressful life (he doesn't - we have a very nice life) and he needs alcohol to wind down, that "everyone" drinks as much as he does and he won't accept that his language, behaviour etc change. I now don't buy any booze with the groceries, go to bed as soon as he starts to get mean and don't go on about it. I don't know what else to do.

    one more for me please

for the ones suffering with OH / DH issues of behavior changes have you considered setting up the web camera and just leaving it running with audio in the room on record so you can show them exactly what you mean when you say changes? Sometimes the stark reality of a camera that doesn't lie can be a wake up call.
Also you need to make sure you personally are getting support, have you spoken to anyone, if not it may be a good idea to so you can at least know you are not going mad. I have in the past told the doctor about it as when the person does visit them they can do some tests and ask questions relating to this which might also chink the armour.
    Hugs to you all

    19 AF please Shaggy
Had another date last night, all went ok, think he may be a heavy drinker thou, so will be watching out for that!
Had one diet coke all night, sure the bar staff were giving us evils, as it lasted me nearly 3 hours lol

Sorry to hear about MrsR and gardenanna, OH problems - there is a guy who I work with whose OH is the same
He has joined the AA thing that is for partners, or something similar, but they don't seem to be getting anywhere
I guess only a shock of some sorts would hopefully make them see what is going on
See, there are benefits of being single :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I am not sure on my plans yet, will be back to fill you all in :)

last night was another one for me.

had a very small civilised glass of wine in a nice bar in Paris tonight. I must admit I do like their attitude to having small glasses of very good wine and not going mental.

    That was me.

My wife eventually divorced me and this meant I could drink whenever I wanted.
This took its toll and led to two months in hospital/rehab.

I now go to AA meetings to remind me where I have been.
