Thanks spoon i hope the new ideas work tbh some of them are things i used to do when kids were small but stopped when things started going wrong

It's a new year and so i'm starting all over again i can't change the past but i can do something about the future i've got new anti depp tabs and a lovely d a s w i'm going to try and get better so i can do the things i can't do atm

from talking to everyone on here it has helped a lot i sorted my debts out in august unfortunatley i had to do a dro but it felt good that i'd decided to do it after being on here asking for advice

This year will be a fresh start yes i still have a small amount of debt gas bill higher than i expected so i've delt with that on friday bg are putting a pre pay meter in and setting it to take the debt at £3.40 a week which is the lowest amount they can set it to and it will be paid in full by october (maybe sooner dep on weather) it seemed the right thing to do after i did the same with the leccy it has actually saved us money i'm always turning things off the kids still forget now and then but a quick reminder soon helps we've only been totally out of leccy twice since feb 2011 i think thats good going and it's costing less than the monthly dd i was paying before i got huge bill the huge bill can't happen any more hopefully it will save us more again

That's a thought i will try and keep track of how much it saves me just like with the nsd's which reminds me TODAYS MY 1ST NSD OF THE YEAR

Best wishes for everyone not feeling so good i'm trying to think of bad days like spend days i DO NOT WANT TOO MANY OF THEM!!

Hooray! First NSD of the year - unless you count the taxi home at some stupid time of the morning, but to be fair, I gave my friend the money for that at the start of the evening.
Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again :(
Total debt £4,839.51 (Still adding it up though :( )
    Now : £4, 759.81

It's the first time I've come across this thread and I'm quite interested in joining in if that would be ok?

How do people work out the number of NSDs they want? Is it just a number they aim to stick to?

Hi, in my case I just decided on a target of 10 days and did my best to reach that. It is entirely up to the individual how many nsd's they think they can do in a month. Start as low as you like and build up. You get lovely prizes on page one if you reach target. :D

NSD No 1 today. Not going anywhere all week if I can help it so maybe a few more.

Most unusually for me, the 1st of the month was an NSD (normally scuppered by D/Debits). Also helped that the shops were shut and that I had company all day ;)

    So that's NSD #1 for me :T

My chap was telling me a tale while he was here.... turns out he was in Mr A on Saturday morning, and spotted some reduced cheesecakes in the chiller which he went for a closer look at. As he was putting one back he spotted 'Whoops!' on the label - said he cracked up as he's heard me talking of Whoopsies fairly regularly, but didn't realise where the name came from :rotfl:
