My Wife is looking to get a smartphone (Sick of me doing just about everything on my iPhone :P) and I've been having a look for her but she really doesn't want to spend more than £15 a month. She'd probably stretch a little bit more if there was something a lot better.
What is the best Smartphone you can get on contract for that price range?

Are you a virgin customer ..Broadband TV or anything ?
They were doing a pretty good offer for customers of other services It was the Samsung galaxy 2 for about £15 a month .
Otherwise try HotUK Deals for offers.0 -
I would recommend a samsung galaxy ace, it`s a good starter smartphone and around the £15 per month on contract or £150 ish on PAYG.
Same screen size as your iphone and can do just the same on the net.Dave
2 free ipod shuffles
1 free ipod touch
over £200 Cash
and collecting for more.0 -
Avoid the wildfire - they really don't have the screen real estate to be a true smartphone, IMO. My wife has one and it's been awful.
I'm not sure that the wildfire S is much better.0 -

what about Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S which i think is a beautiful one.0 -
The Sony Xperia Ray has many good reviews and I'm looking to buy one myself. It's a slimmer smartphone, more a ladies phone some would say! Trouble is, I think they're only free on a £20 or over contract, or you could probably take a cheaper contract and pay a little bit up front for the phone.0

How many minutes and texts are required at that price point?0

Xperia Ray very good choice, Galaxy W, HTC Rhyme, etc, just look around to see which phone you/she would like, there are lots out there. I disagree with the Galaxy Ace comment above, this phone is becoming dated and it is now slower to newer released phones, I would avoid!
I would go via topcashback to o2 as they are curently giving £100 on all new 18/24 months contract. I personally think the HTC Rhyme is the best choice, very powerful and fast and its a lady colour(purple). It is slightly bigger than the Iphone though so may be too big.

(The cost is £105 on £10.50 per month but the topcashback would cancel this out, but with £10.50 per month, you get zero data and only 50 minutes)
The Xperia Ray is just as fast as the Rhyme, but smaller and lighter, also a great choice. It is £15.32 at Dial A phone on Tmobile, only 100mins and 100 texts though. £50 topcashback = monthly costs nets out at around £13.25. There is also good deals on this on the o2 website, in fact, that is what deal I would go for, the Xperia Ray via o2s website (although go through topcashback to get the £100 back!!):

Xperia Ray or HTC Rhyme are the best choices, I would avoid phones like the Galaxy Ace, Wildfire S, because they are just slow and oldThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Anyway, if you don't mind a £150 outlay, this would be worth a look:

Really good price for a Mango handset, and they have great social integration.0 -

Not wanting to make this an apple vs android post but if she is used to your iPhone she will probably want an iPhone.
Remember you can sync both to the same iTunes account and put the apps you have already bought on both.0 -
I would also say iPhone for same reason as above.
iPhone 3GS is still a fantastic phone and you should be able to get a sub 15quid contract (light user, 24 months) with the phone free.0
