The 'extra payment every week' challenge

Managed to pay an extra £5.00 this week so my total is now an extra £20.00 paid off since starting :j

Hi I've been a member of this site for a few years and pop on every now and again for inspiration and information on how to cut down my debts.

I have never done any of the challenges before and think that this might be a really good onw to start me off with.

I would be really happy if you would allow me to join in with this challenge.

I would like to concentrate on my RBS cc which has an outstanding balance of £2,567.59. The normal monthly minimum repayment is around £59.00. This month I have paid £60.00 so I have overpaid by 88p.

Also I have no idea how to do the signature bar sorry xx

Well done on making a start. Even 88p makes a difference in the long run.

As for a signature. At the top of the Forums you will see a title saying USER CP. Click on this then on the left one of the choices is "edit signature". you can go in here and put a couple of lines.

Wow what a fab week!! A total of £35.19 this week :j

I have had a £20 note in my purse since Monday that I have been determined not to break into. This "extra payment a week" is such an incentive not to spend any money!!!!

Used points instead of cash for my coffeees this week another £5.30 paid off CC

Total so far £78.39

Not a lot this week, but I guess every little bit is another baby step forward. Paid £2.26 off the credit card today.

This is a great start challenge for me to get me going on sorting myself out.

Just checked Ebay and the few bits I have listed are up to £18.91 (finishing tomorrow ):j

So at least I have next weeks extra

Well done everyone for this week's payments.

I've made my extra payment this week of £3 to my capital one account. I've also managed to pay for my car to be MOT'd this week which involved two new tyres track rod ends and exhaust mounting!!!! I know to a lot of you that won't sound a lot but I have just enought money to get to the end of the month each month and that does not include car maintenance, holidays, birthdays christmas etc, that is JUST day to day week to week stuff. We really struggle and so I am very proud that not only have we managed to get the car sorted we have also been able to pay for it without borrowing. A real achievement and for once I feel like we might be on our way to somewhere a little better than the place we've been for the last 2/3 years. I don't want to jinx it but maybe, just maybe it might be our turn for something good. x

Next week's payments will be the last for this month so if you can all remember to update your signature by next weekend Ill try to get the January total posted over the weeend. xxxx :T

Polite request - please read!

Please could I ask all the lovely members of this challenge to please make sure your signature has a TOTAL for your extra weekly payments? I know some of you are new to the forum and/or have not yet had chance to update your signature. If everyone has a TOTAL as well as the amount they have paid that week then it will make it easier when it come to me adding up the total we've all paid off.

If you are not sure how to add a signature:

Go to the green strip at the top of any page on the forum and click on USer CP, then on the left hand side click on edit signature. Here you can write your signature then click save.

Suggested format: Extra payment per week challenge: £x.xx this week / TOTAL £xx.xx

(Or something similar! )
