I'd set my mind on buying another big bar today, but the supermarket had none left! And as I live in a one supermarket town, I can't get any... I'm not doing a 30 mile trip to get some.
Seriously, what's in this stuff, that it can trigger such a strong craving, even after 5 months not eating it?
Hi Ellie
The brain is addicted to sugar so it is just waiting... waiting ....waiting for you to pounce again :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It would be the same if I decided to light up again... even after years, I would be back to smoking 20+ a day within a very short time.... I still miss it though !!!
That's why I daren't have any of my weaknesses in the house... DH keeps sabotaging me by buying crisps etc ..whereas I find it easier not to have the temptation in the first place... It's funny though, that I don't touch the stuff on the top of the wardrobe... I think that's there to prove I can resist .... resist ... resist...I don't think I do ellie. And it makes me cough. Wierd or what?!
No, not abandoning you, I still have a bit to lose so doing it in small steps. It does seem to get harder the nearer I get to target, and I'm told it gets more difficult as we get older but that's a load of poppycock
I am glad to hear that you are not abandoning us, sparrer... I am the same as you.... small targets at a time.... so I hope you are planning to stay on for years 'cause that's how long it's going to take me !!!
By the way, how do you reconstitute dried fried egg ???? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well done, Muckymoo....0 -
Well done Dragon:beer:

Hi all, I have just found this thread by accident. What a great bunch you sound. I read the first two posts and sort of flicked through the others. I am sooooo fed up with diets. I'm 50 years old and for most of it have been on some diet or another, When I was younger and slimmer it was half a stone or a few pounds as I've got older it's stone's! I went onto SW a year and a half ago and lost quite a bit but I couldn't sustain it and put on the couple of stone I lost and a half a stone more after I left my very active job to become a respite foster Carer. Went back onto SW 3 months ago and have lost half a stone but with weeks of STS even though I thought I had been good! Very depressed about the whole thing, diets weight, food etc!! Can you help a hormonal, frustrated, 16 stone, 50 year old who hates looking in the mirror! No pressure!!!With Our Thoughts. We make our world - Buddha

Welcome sugarpuss...my first suggestion - stop looking in the mirror
I usually only look from the neck up :rotfl:
I've no great words of wisdom, as I've failed miserably this quarter, except come and join us! I'm really hopeful that the new challenge beginning in a week will give me that much needed kick up the bum!
Todays food
B: cornflakes etc
L: 2 pitta bread with cheese
S: a few of those sweets that sneaked into the housepizza
spent a very pleasant evening on my own...it involved pizza, wine, watching The Voice, internet surfing, some more wine (drinking on my own, slapped wrist for me lol)...watched a Proclaimers concert on BBC Alba, then some pipes and fiddles stuff, done some chair bopping and singing along (but not to the gaelic bits)...very enjoyable

The Dragon - Thanks for the support, love the philosophy, count me in. Think I will just try to be sensible and not overdo it and not stress about it any more. And won't beat myself up if I have a lapse! With Our Thoughts. We make our world - Buddha

She had taken out over £500 from the bank, so I am praying that the money is in her house.. Although my husband can access her bank accounts etc, the bank cannot refuse to give her large amounts of her own money if she so wishes... So he's going down to the bank tomorrow to see what can be done... She is getting so confused but not enough for a doctor to say that she has no mental capacity.. She has the bank pin number stuck on the back of the card... so it is a worrying time.. She could be prey to any of these hoodlums that hang about near where she lives.. She is so frail...
I have a similar problem with my dad, he has some memory problems but still goes out by himself, and sometimes goes to the bank and asks for ridiculous amounts (1 time he took out £4000, which I put straight back into his account when I found out). Luckily he doesn't have a bank card, as he has always insisted on using cash, so he has to go in the bank and withdraw cash at the counter, and when he goes in the local branch the staff know him and if they feel the amount he has asked for is excessive, they give me a call to check if he needs that much, and I usually tell them to give him no more than £100, as he wouldn't need any more than that, and if he did I would go with him to make sure he got home safe with it. Would it be possible for your DH to keep her card so he could have more control of what she takes out?sugarpuss27 wrote: »Hi all, I have just found this thread by accident.
