Weigh in and delighted with a STS. I've had a busy week with meals out and nights out at the pub so a good result for me. Hope you all have a good weekend.

This is such a good thread. Making food from scratch and ignoring the majority of processed stuff is such a great way to lose weight

When I read an article in the newspaper saying we are eating too much added sugar and should limit it to 6 teaspoons (25g) a day (naturally occurring as in milk and fruit isn't counted), I started looking very carefully at food labels and found that fizzy drinks contain about 9 teaspoons, a third of a jar of shop bought pasta sauce can contain over 13g, a tablespoon of shop bought coleslaw can contain up to 4g, there can be up to 3g in an average slice of bread, and low fat yoghurt can have about 5 teaspoons and tinned soup has more than you'd expect.

When I cut added sugar down to as low as possible, which basically meant avoiding any processed foods--savoury as well as sweet--- and controlling how much sugar I ate in my meals by making them from scratch, the weight just started falling off. A big surprise as I'd always thought that cutting fat was the key.

I've actually no problem with fat - I tend not to eat very fatty food's like pork pies :) but have no issues with meat or cheese in sensible portions.

If I don't try and keep down my sugar it gives me headaches, makes me grouchy, makes me crave more of it. And doesn't help with weightloss as you say.

I loose weight best if I try and stay low fat and sugar.

I don't talk about it much though - everyone is different and some people take it very personally if you say you eat sausages and bacon and still lose weight.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

    Today

Cooking day for in the week so I probably won't eat much:

B - 200g yogurt, 70g oats (mixed and left overnight to soak)
D - Spaghetti parmesan - 75g Spaghetti, 45g cheese (mix of parmesan and cheddar), 1 large onion, 1 tin tomatoes
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
