I've had over a decade of great service with Dell Business buying monitors, PCs and laptops. They usually try a little harder to solve things and in the case of this behemoth monitor you can't go wrong going with Dell.

Or Amazon of course. Although I'm guessing they'd just refer you to Dell.

Just make sure it's the right monitor for you as many people buy these and quickly regret it. Do you need/can you use those pixels or would a standard 1920x1200 27.5" screen do the job? Lots of good stuff out there with 3 year warranties too http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003EEMDMM I installed a few of those last year and people are very pleased with them. For £214 they're a steal. Review here

Yes, there's no 'change of mind' DSR with Dell Business so be aware of that.

No doubt I want that monitor for extra HD gaming and more space for Photoshop. I want the extra pixels. I already have 2 dell 2407wfp a total of 3840x1200 pixels and I'd like some more :D. But instead of having a third 24" (for eyefinity maybe) I'd like 1 monitor that has a high resolution hence the 2560x1440. So once I get it i plan to rotate the 2 24s and have the 27 in the center

That's back down to £569.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003A4H17S

Mind that's from Amazon.co.uk not a reseller etc.

Thanks Jemma-T, indeed it has. Good price.

I actually bought buy it now from Ebay for £469 refurb 1year warranty. However two minutes after i confirmed the bid, i decided to check the Dell website.

They had an amazing deal on that monitor 20% off till Jan 18 then a further 15% off till yesterday which brought the total down to £505 with free shipping. On top of that another 10% from quidco, so i basically ended up getting the monitor (in my room now) for the same price as I would have if i had bought from Amazon.de :D

Now I'll spend the money saved on a desk extension, 2x2 expedit to go with my expedit combo desk. Off to ikea...

I've bought lots from Ebays sites all over the place, USA and Europe, including books, electronics, toys, kitchen appliances. (got the wii from amazon.de too....)

If there is a problem amazon have a strong return policy, a bit of a complication if you don't speak the language at all, but personally I'd go for it.

As others have said, NO VAT/DUTIES ARE PAYABLE FROM EU COUNTRIES.

The plug is not really a problem, you need something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Masterplug-Travel-TAVUK-MP-Visitor-Adaptor/dp/B000SWE2AY/ref=sr_1_2?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1325807701&sr=1-2
(I'd recommend buying only from Amazon itself, as I would not want to get a cheap Chinese import for something electrical)

Finally Amazon give free postage even when sending to other countries (not sure which, you will find out). The resason? When I recently bought 2 presents from an foreign ebay to send to friends who live in that country, the two parcels were dispatch from two other countries, one from Scotland and one from Germany. National boundaries had no meaning in this case, so if you buy from Scotland or Germany Amazon may just send you the same item anyway...

Which code was that?

Few codes around but none seem to work with Dell Business for this monitor.

A U2711 with a price starting with "£4----"? Never thought I'd see the day.

Yes, http://www.amazon.it/dp/B0038JEINA It was €518,80 (€507,11 + €15,88 shipping). It's back up in price now. Cheaper now at http://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0038JEINA

I ordered one for my SIL and it looks like it actually came from Milton Keynes and is due for delivery tomorrow from City Link.

£442.30inc with the usual CC surcharge.

Great price when you consider the rather poorly presented Hazro version of this hovers at £360-£400.

Yes, I do it all the time.

Login is the same as is the checkout process. Even though the language is different all the buttons and confirmations are the same.

If you're unsure of the language then try http://translate.google.co.uk/ and all Amazon sites have English help pages/FAQs and you can contact them in English too.

This is why Amazon is such a cool company.

yes, it's just one company operating from different websites, they warehouses are the same.
there's only one Amazon in Europe, when goods arrive packaging has all their websites's addresses on them, only the invoice is in different languages/currencies.
