Hello back again ..... oops fell off the treadmill for a few days but today I have increased my totals a little:
Ditch 100 in January
45/100
32 - Christmas Carol on cassette tape
33 - 1 mens jumper
34-37 - 3 x mens shirts
38 - school shirt
39-40 2 x jumpers
41-43 3 x tops
These are going to charity shop but also got rid of
bags of recycling x 2 (44-45)
I sorted out the conservatory and its now ready to put the stuff that I want to try and sell on ebay and have also put the sofa bed out there so more room to move in the study. cleaned the old radio boxes and now using these as bedside tables for DS bedroom. They will need a coat of paint in the summer but not yet (I do not want to be distracted!!) I actually found some lining newspaper that was dated 1961...! I found them in the roof when I bought the house so I havn't actually had them that long:) I am not that age yet although my sister has just turned 50....:D
November NSD 1/10Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go0 -
Those of you fretting about the house looking messier than it did before, don't worry! If you really can't bear it, pull out 1 box at a time and sort that. It will take longer but you'll get there in the end.
Those of you worrying about the amount that others have cleared...... don't count me for one. I have been on this thread for 2 years. I started clearing my house (which was like alleyways through the rooms since 2005) in 2007. I had massively decluttered what I could before we moved into our flat in 2001 and then again when I started packing our flat up (2004) and when we moved (twice in 8 weeks in 2005 ). Yet we still had tonnes and tonnes of utter sh1te!
The only reason I am managing to do this much at the moment is because DH is still off work on holiday and I am on my days off. I go back in on Friday night and he's back to work on Monday so it will grind to a halt. For some reason, he is in a decluttering mood which means that he is actually getting rid of some of his rubbish. Just need to get him started on his cd's and dvd's (ha ha!).Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Please may I join in this challenge - I am SO ashamed of how our home looks at the moment
"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Good morning all, my de-cluttering seems to be minimal (the only thing in my life I think) during the week.
I read somewhere that there is a link between clutterers and carrying some extra weight. Be interesting to hear others thoughts on this.
DMNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

Well I certainly have a lot of clutter all over my body.0 -
We dont have any!! There's a wardrobe on either side of our bed, so instead we have a shelf that goes across the top of the headboard.
I like the idea of a shelf and it would mean moving my stuff and his [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] useful items into other drawers but i do like a clear floor space.
I must admit, i'm making progress in the house but i'm having to fight Mr Judi all the way as he doesnt like change.... Talking about Mr Judi. Has anyone got any useful ideas as how i can talk him into letting me chuck out a clock we have on the wall? We bought it about 10 years ago and its a windup thing. Unfortunately he put it up too high for me and i cant reach to wind it up without breaking my neck so it sits there for three quarters of the year not working as he works away. I hated it when he bought it. He says he aint binning it cause it cost too much but thats not a good enough reason to keep it is it?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hello!
Quick intro: I'm 28 have 2 little ones DD 2yrs old and DS almost 1yr old, I also have an OH who has had 3 strokes and now suffers with visual disturbances (He is so lucky considering what could have happened:eek:). OH is very helpful but is on new meds so sleeps a lot and is only up between 1pm and 10 pm. I am in charge of the kiddies as OH is a bit nervous with them both and gets overwhelmed easily.
Basically I wish I had a guide on how to declutter, organise my time to get the house in order, have ideas for lunch/tea, play with the kids, keep peace and still have some time for me. I already cook everything from scratch, bake bread and biscuits (shouldnt bake biscuits as I tend to eat them :rotfl:).
Our current schedule:
7am Up and breakfast (porridge)
9:30am Fruit snack
11:30am lunch
3pm fruit snack
5pm Tea
6:30pm Bath
7pm Story and bed.
Ok so thats the childrens schedule but this is what I am working from. Apart from Mondays and Tuesdays where I am out of the house from 6:30am till 6pm for work.
Essentially I just look at the house and wish I had it to myself for 24 hours to blitz it. I dont know where to start in getting into a cleaning [STRIKE]ritual[/STRIKE] routine and then how to keep it up. I am very much someone who starts off with good intentions and then things start to slide. Please help me get on the right track.

Ditch 100 in January Challenge
30-31. toiletries used up
32. kids book for c/s
33. clothes returned via collect+
34-35. 2 more ebay parcels, pending postage
36-37. 2 worn tops, to the bin
37/100
I think my level of tidyness/clutter correlates with my mood and weight... if I feel bad, my surroundings tend to look bad. And vice versa.0 -

If you don't like it I would chairty shop it when he's not there and say it fell off the wall...but that might not be the best idea - just my way of dealing with it. I wouldn't keep anything that you see as an eyesaw.
