Hi All, still at it, albeit slowly!
Todays declutter:
117: Changed filter in water jug: old one will be taken to Argos for recycling or whatever they do with it
118: Found a whole packet and few stragglers of some of my medication that expired in April 2009!!! Will take back to pharmacy
119: Couple more cards written and posted
120: Metal clothes airer that daughter brought round weeks ago. I thought she wanted us to store it while her renovations were going on, but turns out she 'gave' it to us! This will go to charity shop when I next go
Got a few jobs done today: delivered some cards, picked up new medication, tidied breakfast room and put stuff away that had been sitting on the table for a week! Changed bed and washed bedlinen, tidied dining table (a bit) - little 'bitty' jobs that don't amount to much on their own but needed doing.
And..... ta da.... I got mother-in-law's Christmas present wrapped! Actually, looking at the rest, there's not really much to do. So I will tackle that tomorrow. Going to make some teacup candles tomorrow morning, some for Christmas pressies, so that will get something else out of the house when they're given out. Going to a friend's soap workshop to make them, looking forward to that, it always smells lovely because of all the oils they use in the soaps and balms and candles....
Anyway, bed beckons.. lovely clean bed sheets and clean PJs....Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Ooh, I have the stuff ready for soap making! It's that flipping Kirsty Allsops fault! And, because we have to economise a huge amount with our electricity bill & we have lots of power cuts, have decided to make candles too. Have some big scallop shells which will be used. All planned for 2013.
Have such a lot I want to get on with but don't want to start anything until new year, hurry up 2013!:rotfl:
Keep going all, grateful to OP for thread which has been a godsend this year, thanks ever so much :TSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Hi everybody,
Some time has elapsed since my last post but I have been following your decluttering activities. mineallmine, thanks for your "well done" regarding me doing my will and Lilyplonk, yes I feel calmer now that this is sorted. I hope I have "protected" those closest and everything will be easy to manage afterwards.
Since that event, decluttering has not been as pressing although other people have slowed down my progress. All my scrap metal could not be accepted due to the scrapyard needing identification. (Don't think I have what they require.) Went back to the opticians to have two new pairs of glasses adjusted. Also, was going to recycle old frames but they said it was cheaper to use them for any future new lens. "Emotional clutter" concerning some health tests are taking a long time to come through resulting in eight visits and several phone calls. Afterwards, my health files will be decluttered. Additionally, everyday routine and having a cold/lack of sleep are problematic.
Anyway, usual routine decluttering has involved recycling out, rubbish out, using up food recipes, picking up bits of plastic from the garden and clearing the bird feeding area. Other tasks involve tidying a straggly pot plant, throwing away a dried shoe shine, using up a homemade cleaning product, a last supermarket "freebie" coupon used, shredding duplicate health product information, reducing art files to one and a legal form completed/sent. A Xmas visit was also "emotional clutter" but this went well.
Anyhow, glad to do this update as this has been "emotional clutter" too! Good luck.0 -

That's how I feel, there's something about Christmas that makes me want to stop for a while. But I've got de-cluttering plans for 2013, so I'll be going for it in January !Early retired - 18th December 2014

Morning!
Well I'm up early, going to walk the dog in the rain, whilst the kids are asleep, though miss Evelyn has just woke for a feed ATM.
I'm going to write a list, see how much we accomplish
1) take present to mums
2) gather atleast 2 carrier bags of stuff for charity
3) do a tip run (trying to keep bin half empty as it's not collected until new years eve!)
4)declutter 3 washing baskets of dirty washing, wash, dry and put away!
5)carpet shampoo lounge
6) make desk and lounge look tidy/presentable
Hope I can do everything on the list! XDFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Still going slowly here: hubby surprised me by giving me 3 items of clothing for the charity shop! He was tackling the ironing mountain - just his stuff, and when I tackle my ironing there may well be more, but that's well down the list.
121-123 3 items of hubby's clothing to charity shop
124 Hubby's old driving licence: going to be sent back to DVLC as requested
Did manage to wrap some more presents up today ready to give on Monday, so that's a few more things out of the way. Hoping I'm going to find some motivation in my Christmas stocking so I can get back to it after Christmas. I think one of my New Year Resolutions will be to get the house back to 'viewing mode' for potential buyers!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

:hello: good morning follks
Not much activity on this thread in the past few days - I'm assuming that's because we're all too mad-busy with our 'flinging' and Christmas Preparations to even think about sitting at the PC counting out what we're doing .
Well done everybody and keep it up ................. :T
Since my last post (early hours Thurs morning), I've had my carpets fitted and they look great - the new flat looks much cosier now and it certainly makes a difference to the appearance of the rooms - they don't look as 'shabby' as at first. The condition of the paintwork etc is quite OK for moving into - the 'blown vinyl' isn't my first choice for wall-covering BUT it does have certain 'insulating properties' so I don't have a major problem with it. The colours are basic 'magnolia' :j plus a slightly 'in your face' lilac - but even that will do for now. I'm very much a 'lilac-loving Lilyplonk' BUT that particular shade will dominate even my 'lilac-toned' bedlinens :rotfl:. All things considered, the state of decor is 'better than adequate' and will suffice for now ....................
Yesterday morning I took dgs1 and OH to the flat with some boxes of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] of kitchen items including my Actifry, Coffee Maker, Halogen Oven, spare Toaster, tea/coffee making stuff, CD/radio, CD's, Toilet Rolls and a chair for me to sit on - as my back was killing me while waiting for the carpet fitters to do their job!
I took dgs1 to the Garden Centre for lunch as promised - he requested Jacket Potato with Tuna/Mayo - unusually, a very sensible choice for him to make. He then appeared to be struggling with the potato, so I asked if he would like me to scoop the contents out of the skins - yes please. I did that, leaving the potato, tuna and mayo on the place for him at which point he proceeded to pick the tuna mayo out with his fork! I should have asked for 'Tuna Mayo Jacket Potato but hold the potato' :rotfl:. I'll know better in future .................
Oh yes, we also had the gas fitter round yesterday to 'commission' the gas supply and do Gas Safety Checks - it's now so warm and cosy in there and we've got a Gas Fire - so instant warmth!!!!
Last night, DS1/OH and dgs2 made two trips in a small 'works van' and shifted a stack of boxes with clothes, shoes, towels/bathroom mats/teatowels, kitchen stuff, cookery books, Food Processor, Slow Cooker, books, bags/scarves/etc, sewing machine, two chests of drawers, new mop & bucket/dustpan & brush/small bucket, my Vibrapower Disc exercise machine and the large Ikea pouffee (for extra seating).
Expecting BOTH DS1&2 today for more box shifting - hoping to talk OH into getting the bulk of his clothes out of here as well - but looks like he wants 'full choice of clothing' right up to the last minute - what the heck's that all about!!!!!
I'm going to disappear for a few minutes now - have got dgs2&3 asleep upstairs and we've run out of bread and milk. Better get to local corner shop BEFORE the monkeys decide to wake up. They're the sort of kids that you daren't turn your back on once they're awake, I'm outa here NOW.
Have a good decluttering day - Speak again later - Lilyplonk xxx0 -
Morning all,
How exciting lily plonk :j Hopefully all your decluttering is making the move easier.
Not much decluttering here to report having done lots at the start of the month. Just odd bits.
I need to rest at the moment so will aim to do some reading to declutter some magazines or books

This thread was a BIG inspiration to me when we moved house in the summer. I'm looking forward to next years thread.
