I've been taking it easy today. Going to grab some books to look through and try to declutter some of them. :)

    Morning all

Very quiet here this morning! Congrats lilyplonk on taking the ebay plunge. :T and thanks Becky for the tip re hair conditioner, I had no idea. I have been using mine to shave my legs in a desperate bid to finish it but will try that as well.

I have had a reasonably successful weekend.

Large CS bag finally gone to British Heart Foundation.
    Friend collected Sky plus box.
Christmas bag sorted and various odds of wrapping paper, old Christmas cards etc. binned and remainder put into a Lakeland bag.
Listed 9 things on ebay free listing weekend but not holding out much hope after last time.
Freecycled - toolbox, bag Christmas stuff used to live in
To be collected by Freecycler on Weds - small bag of Christmas decs

All Christmas presents bought and wrapped and all cards written out. Also caught up on 4 episodes of Being Erica which i was very chuffed about so sky plus box also being decluttered :)

:hello: [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] oops, best make that 'afternoon' everybody :o.

Hope all's went well yesterday, mineallmine - with no more migraines :).

wtg Fizzbitz - great stuff there :T.

great going, Happytails - best of luck with trying to get Eva to last longer between feeds :). Fingers crossed that you have better luck than I did with two of mine ;)!

Good luck, cyclingyorkie - it's a damn nuisance when they miss out bin collections around Christmas! We've had that around here in the past .

:T Well done fitnessfreak and good luck with the freecycling.

Yesterday we managed to get one bookcase 'pruned' and boxed up - 'reasonably' pleased with the results - though I do think that HE could have been a bit more ruthless with HIS books :rotfl:.

I've done another one this morning - filled a packing box with a pile of 'box files' and folders for my various 'hobbies' (Family History, Local History, Dietitician/Recipes/Fitness Stuff).

Also 'decluttered' the bottom fridge drawer of carrots, leeks, onions, celery and made a large pan of delicious Vegetable Soup - along with a 'good squirt' of Tomato Puree, it tastes very similar to H***z Vegetable Soup . We each had a large bowl yesterday along with Ham and Cheese Toasties for evening meal. Just had another large bowl each with crusty bread for lunch today. Another two large portions sitting in the fridge for tomorrow :D.

No more fresh veg getting bought before we move now - there's frozen stuff to be used up and that will 'get us by' for the next couple of weeks.

I've now got a couple of boxes/bags of various books / games / handcreams / caps / t-shirts / gloves / bric-a-brac for the cs - will nip up there in a few minutes to get rid before HIMSELF realises that they've actually made it out of the door ;)!

Going to tack another two bookcases this evening - see how much more I can get rid of.

Keep up the good work everybody :T - Lilyplonk xx
  • I haven't left! :p

Hubby has been really poorly, his immune system is rubbish with all the treatment and meds he has to take, so him getting a virus was a seriously bad idea. _pale_

While he has been sleeping during the day I have been finding quiet stuff to do, have actually cleared all, yes ALL the ironing!!! I had forgotten what my sofa looked like without a pile of laundry on it.

RSPCA collected their big box last week and I collapsed six boxes which are all in one big box ready to go into garage when we are both up to tackling that.

Will list all my outs later. Am in bed with hubby's lurgi, bless him, just an early night though - have to look after my lovely man a bit more to get him back on his feet :A

Well done everyone, it's easy to lose the momentum at this time of year with so much other stuff going on. Keep it up :T

  • Have had a ouple of really lazy days... did manage to write and post half a dozen Christmas cards, but spent today looking after and entertaining our granddaughter. She's nearly 2 and no problem but it just means that I can't do anything else while she's around.

Tomorrow have got a coffee morning to go to, I've wrapped up 50 odd tombola prizes, so at least they will be out of the house, along with the cellophane I wrapped them up in. Will count them tomorrow.

Going to make a real effort this week to get the house back to 'fit for viewing' standard; if the estate agent phoned at the moment to book a viewing I'd have to put them off for a few days while I got over the panic attack I'd be having!!!

Glad to hear everyone else is doing so well, keep at it everyone, we'll get there in the end!!!

Oh well it's me again at 'silly o'clock' - thought the alarm clock said 20 past 7 but it was actually 25 to 5 . Do they do 'sleeping-in-bed-reading-glasses' :(?

I've been having those 'packing box dreams' again! Yesterday, while I was wandering around Asda, DS1 phoned to say that he'd found 50 UNWANTED 'new and flat' packing boxes in an empty house that he's doing security on - so he's 'redistributed' 20 of them in my direction. He double-checked with 'his management' first and all contents were destined for the tip - so he was allowed to take them :j! I can also have the rest IF I want them ................ Last time that I moved, around 6yrs ago, these things cost me a small fortune to buy new from a Storage Company :T.

Have decided that NOW is the time to pack away all our clothes/shoes into the some of the bigger boxes - just leaving out about three outfits each - this should all be over and done with in about 10days - fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear that you and OH haven't been well, Suzeesu - rotten luck at this time of year with so much 'to be done for Christmas'. Hopefully you'll both be over the worst of it within the next 2 weeks ((((hugs)))) for you both. Well done :T on getting anything at all done. Great when you rediscover the sofa isn't it ;)!

Hope your Tombola goes well, loopychriss - oh the joys of 'getting involved in various activities/clubs' :rotfl:. I well remember the days of my stints as 'Mum&Toddler Organiser' / School Parent Governor / Parent/Teacher Group Organiser / Church Social/Fayre/Charity Shop Assistant - my home was never my own back then with every inch of spare space taken up with all kinds stashed for 'when needed' :D.

It's also time to wrap/label/distribute Christmas presents and get them out of the way BEFORE moving - DS1, DS2 and DD are just going to have to find storage space in their own homes for all the prezzies. I've also made a big boo-boo regarding OH's present. Why, oh why, did I think he didn't have the complete set of 'One Foot In The Grave' shrug.gif - now I need to sell it on as I've sent for the complete set of 'The Sopranos' instead :o.

While I was making my coffee this morning, I dumped the following:

    - 5 manky Kiwi fruit into the Food Waste Recycling (fwr)
    - 4 apples recycled (via pinging) into 'apple puree' to have with yoghurt for desserts (home-made fruit corner!) now in fridge
    - empty hair spray into Household Rubbish (hr)
    - empty hair mousse (hr)
    - 2 empty toothpaste tubes (duly opened and contents scraped out) (hr)
    - new toothpaste packaging into Recycling Bin (rb)
    - peel from 'just about edible' kiwi fruit and tangerine into fwr
    - various hair ornaments/elastics/scrunchies/clips from around the kitchen window ledges/drawers/kitchen table - left by dgd1&2 - now put into an old margarine tub for redirecting back to their home!!!

I'm feeling very virtuous and productive for THIS time of day :j!

Keep up the good work ladies - speak again later - Lilyplonk xxx
