Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

I'm doing FlyLady this week. Hoping that this will help in decluttering too.
30. Bits of rubbish from the stairs
31. OOD food
32. Icing set (CS)
33. Bag of receipts to burn
34. Brochures
Starting to go through xmas decs. Would you believe this... We had a box of 2 mini pre lit xmas trees in the loft unused. I'm so ashamed. I'd obviously bought them on offer, put them up in the loft and they got tucked behind other stuff.
Determined to empty the loft so the insulation can be topped up. That's definitely one for February/March time but it will go on the declutter plan to declutter the house room by room.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Morning all hope you are all busy decluttering !!
I wont be doing any decluttering today as little miss has been very very ill thru the night we have been cuddled up on the couch from 3.15 this morning, went back to bed at 6.30 as my hubby got up and was with her before he went to work at 7.30 so he put her in our bed but come 8 she was up again.
So ill be mostly decluttering the fridge today as I shall be grabbing anything to eat when I can because I wont have time to cook.
Have a fab day decluttering !!!!0 -
Morning all and welcome back lilyplonk
On Friday a very lovely lady came to my workplace to collect the PS1 dancemat, we ended up chatting for nearly an hour and she gave me a jar of sweets she'd made up to say thanks. she was so nice I said if she was ever in the area to pop by and we could have a coffee.
Checking through the wanteds on my local Freecycle group was after any bits of cutlery and I suddenly remembered I had 4 side salad bowls I could get shot of as I have never used them. I left them outside as wasn't going to be around and she emailed yesterday to say she had successfully collected them.
1 more book to the CS bag and added to the 50 out by end of 2012, not doing too well with this, I think I will struggle to make 50 to be honest. Am only up to 14 at the mo.
Freecycler was after any musical instruments and I remembered I have 2 recorders from my school days I have not even touched in over 20 years so thought I'd offer them. They replied straight away to say yes please so hopefully will be collected from work some time this week.
Ebay sales - disappointing. out of 13 items only 2 sold and for the starting priceSo the ebay box is still stacked high. Am going to give Facebook and Gumtree a go.
I noticed something on Saturday. Opening my wardrobe I realised I actually liked everything that was hanging up! so no more rejecting items thinking well that's nice but it makes my thighs look big etc. I feel I actually want to wear all the things I have. This has never happened to me before and is a sign that the results of the slow decluttering are finally starting to show. very encouraging. The clothes declutter isn't complete by any means though, I would say maybe 50% done.0 -
:hello: declutterers - hope we've all got our sleeves rolled up and are ready for action ................
I once had a half-hearted attempt at 'Fly Lady' but got so p'ed-off with all their emails that I abandoned my attempts - the one habit that stuck with me is the 'shiny sink' at bedtime. However, as my decluttering now needs to escalate to astronomic proportions, I'm going to have to start doing the '27 Fling Boogie' a few times a day .................. - now where on earth did I put those bin bags ??????
Thanks for the welcome back, fitness- the few days break was just what I needed and mum enjoyed herself too.
Ok then, ladies - Good luck with your decluttering efforts, I'm off to put some music on, find the binbags and start flinging wheeeeeeeeee!0 -
That's great fitnessfreak74. How lovely to open your wardrobe and have that feeling. Just shows the power of this "stuff" to frustrate (me certainly!)
Like it lilyplonk you sound like you're going to have a productive day. Let us know how you get onand flylady I didnt like those emails either so went for the in house MSE version https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/57673733#Comment_57673733
35. Unloved foundation (friend)
36. More rubbish from the stairs
37. Cardboard box
38. Another cardboard bit
39. Plastic packaging. Was going to keep it to remind me of the size for something and thought, just cut that bit out of it and bin the rest.
Good luck with decluttering everyone. Remember to take it easy, do bit by bit. And don't beat yourself up about the clutter. Just do something. Now. For 5 mins.

Hello all, and mnd hope your LO gets better soon.
I am aiming for another 200 athings this month. It is a busy one as OH is away this week, I have a professional assessment next week (!), Xmas etc.
Today:
1 & 2: dressing gowns to charity. Between OH and i we have three, and I always wear his anyway. I can open the door to our spare room without fear of knocking anything over now.
3. Pink dimante eye mask - charity
4-6. In the night garden books - friend whose son will love them
Have finally dropped off bag of ood medicines etc to chemist. About to start taking bits and bobs bag to charity shop and pick up some parcels from the post office.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

40.41.42.43. Cardboard boxes from old lights/decorations in loft (recycling)
44.45. Stationery (CS)
46. Carrier bag of bills to burn
47. Old meds
Have a box of tree decs to go through later. I'll empty all the boxes onto a towel or sheet. See what we have and then get rid of any tired ones. A nice way to use them up can be to stick them onto christmas card envelopes for friends
Feeling very tired now after flylady and declutter today. I should be up to 60 items gone to be on target. 47/60 isn't bad.

Hello declutterers,
Since my last post, I've done various tasks :-
Grocery items all over the kitchen sorted.
Big tidying and putting away things on Sunday.
Dead batteries.
Unfinished frugal task done.
Sports supplement used up.
Using up stationery.
Turned old wrapping paper/gift bags into scrap paper.
Re-using up cardboard and/or recycling.
Sorting out two files and taking out old unwanted info.
Working through bags of containers either to reuse or temporarily reuse.
Cheap soap from drawer being used for general home cleaning.
Four obsolete or hazardous bike equipment items recycled.
Four lots of recycling.
One rubbish bag.
Washing line decluttered.
11 food ingredients/recipes.
Food stock records condensed.
Still have things pending and reluctant decluttering to do. Practical always seems easier but with the weather like it is surely the "thinking" tasks will be worth doing eventually.....
Anyhow, thanks for your message mineallmine regarding a "simpler life"; maybe hard or impossible (for me) but worth a try.0 -
Had a very productive afternoon. Not a clue about how many of this/that I've dealt with, but suffice to say that I'm going to need to 'borrow space' in somebody else's Recycling Bin by the weekend .
I'm taking a short break to 'get the tea on' - then back for round two .............0
