again, not much done today, wrapping xmas presents this evening though so they can go on top of my wardrobe one wrapped rather than in bags on the floor in the way!

got 18 things ending on ebay tomorrow so hoping to have some more 'outs' listed by monday :) 4 have bids on so far :)

Tomorrow will be an 'in' day as got to get a few last Xmas bits and some food in. We are at a wedding Sunday. Im a bridesmaid so its a full day for me! But it keeps me out of the shops LOL and sadly also from decluttering!!

Ohh actually, i can report an item thats 'out' (well its now in our driveway ready for a tip run tomorrow), our 1970's fire surround from the dining room :) So glad to see the back of that!

Lucky DS, he's started ploughing through the boxes from the boys' rooms ....35 items recycled or binned so far - computer games boxes, games books, dried up model paint, school pencil case, old comics and lord knows what else

I haven't counted the CS stuff yet.

Well done to all for your acievements.

So far this week I have thrown out a tub of out of date effervescent Vitamin C and some used up toiletries. Also, I sorted out the cupboard with cleaning products and found 2 sample sized bottles of washing up liquid which I have now started to use and have told myself that I am not allowed to buy any more washing up liquid until the 2 bottles are used up.

Today I will throw away all my birthday cards I received earlier this month together with 2 bunches of flowers and generally declutter to make the house look a bit tidier.

    Good luck to you all
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Stopped for a cuppa..... 77 items so far either in the CS boxes or recycled.
    Recycled:
    - millions of War Hammer mags, rule books etc
    - out of date accountancy/ management/ economics type text books equally out of date
    - sticker albums, swap cards, hobby related books
    - piles of plastic 'sprews' recycled
    - I've imploded box files, collapsed cardboard drawers, squashed metal pencil tins so that I can recycle them and we still have six full sacks outside waiting for the fortnightly collection :o

    Charity shop:
    - a pile of theme park prize toys
    - 18 assorted, unused gift type items like decorative playing cards, cuff links, wire puzzles, a sudoko cube, a credit card sized tool kit etc etc (teen boys have hobbies, but people won't give gift tokens so....)
    - books of all sorts
    - 'trading cards'

So impressed with the speed he is making these decisions (he comes from a line of males who take 20 minutes to chose a biscuit :o).

397 so far this month :j

Not counting items but there is so much going out of this place that I'm losing energy - but not heart!

Last night OH dismantled the old wardrobes and all the bits are waiting to go down two storeys to the back lane for council collection. That may take a little time as I'm a tad (and temporarily) disabled by a gamy knee, however each time we go do we can take a piece each.

There is a horrible amount of dust on the skirting boards where the wardrobes were so after I zoom off to collect a parcel from PO I will tackle that. I'm amazed at the space in the room now but can't wait until the new fitted wardrobes are in place. There will be so much more storage inside.

I'm taking two bin bags to the dump and another bag to the CS on the way back from PO. Can't believe the pleasure I'm getting from this process even though I know that before it's done there will be a whole load of upheaval - living room will have to have three sets of drawers stored in it...and as for our clothes??? Currently all behind one of the sofas and fairly disguised, not sure that will last.

Hey ho.. glad to read that others are being just as productive so good work!

May need a fortifying glass or two tonight.:j

good morning all :hello: - wasn't it cold last night HSshiver.gif! Finished up sleeping in my big, fleecey, pink dressing gown all night but my feet were still like blocks of ice rolleyes.gif.

Really enjoyed the concert last night - so much that I manged to miss the chance of my last train back from Manchester - ooops. Luckily, DS1 was available to come and rescue his mummy ...........

fitness - love your 'Soap and Glory' bag idea ;). I have an old white bedside cabinet (3 drawers) at the side of the bath with spare toiletries in. Not sure if I want to take it when we move - thinking of getting one of the plastic sets of drawers to replace it.

museum worker - :rotfl: at your 'tea collection'. The worst we ever 'had to have' was Nettle Tea - like drinking boiled grass clippings that had been sprayed with insecticide rolleyes.gif! OH drinks 'fancy teas' in fits/starts then goes right off them - so we've got a few that should be recycled.

dannie - some good positive stuff there :).

RevolvingDoor - well done you - we don't have a PDSA shop, but some of the local ladies make blankets out of oddments of wool for the 'overnight clinic'.

mineallmine - :T on your 'personal sealed tin challenge' - just come in time for some extra Christmas Spends :D.

happytails - flipping heck, parcel wrapping. Now that's really putting me to shame :o.

luxor - :T to your DS - that's brilliant. Can you send him round here please - to show my OH the error of his ways ;).

Fizz - well done there :).

Becky - isn't it amazing how we finish up with part-used bottles 'under the sink' - do they breed in there or summat shrug.gif!

Gers - :T on getting your old wardrobes dismantled and good luck with having the new ones fitted - customised storage WOW :j! Be careful of your gammy leg and enjoy your wine.gifhic!

I managed to prep around 3lbs of carrots and 4lbs of parsnips out of the fridge drawers yesterday but had to leave them in iced water in the fridge as I didn't have time to do soup making. They'll get sorted this afternoon - Carrot & Butterbean Soup and Spicy Parsnip Soup .

There'll be some Salad with Turkey Burgers (out of freezer) - with spicy wedges for OH - for evening meal tonight - so a bit more space in freezer. Unfortunately, will need to use that space for some of the soups rolleyes.gif.

No trip to supermarket today - but will have to pay a visit tomorrow. Need to leave a full loaf for OH for next week otherwise he'll go to the 'local corner shop' and pay nearly £2 for a very ordinary loaf lol.

I think it's about time that 'this lazy mare' shifted her backside and made an effort to get showered/dressed - oh dear, I'm really showing my age - definitely no good for late nights these days :o.

Keep up the good work ladies - somebody needs to be making an effort and trying to send me some 'energy vibes' ............

speak again later - Lilyplonk xx

    207-210.
    211. Hand cream used up, not impressed with it!
    212.213.214.215. Tops (CS)
    216.217. OOD make up
    218. Face mask used up. Again not impressed so won't re buy.

Re-read some of Project 333. Haven't counted how many clothes I have yet but decided to be ruthless about things. It is madness to keep something that if/when you do wear it, it doesn't feel right. Also the whole concept of less stuff, so less to tidy up, wash, dry, hang up, tidy up etc etc is compelling.

Managed to clear one bedroom windowsill. Some bits moved elsewhere but it's getting there. Managed to put some of my bits I used daily away (like make up). Only a week ago it was in a big jewellery box on the windowsill. then a small make up bag, now they're in the drawer! And stuff that I'm not using in the drawer has gone to a small toiletry case that stores spare stuff.

The next task will be to hunt down all surplus toiletries knocking around the house to see what I've got and what I need to concentrate on using up.

I keep cluttering up a side table (and underneath it) where I sit. Any ideas? It's mainly bills that I need to put away, or books/ magazines to read. And other papers. I've got a basket (willow one) but I'm reluctant to put it next to the table as it'll provide a home for more stuff. Any ideas gratefully received :o To be harsh I don't need any papers next to me at all times. I just need to file them. :o

Another 15 items into the CS box (DH has already done one run today).
8 books, 3 lots of packaging and assorted papers into the recycling. 4 plastic items too.
8 items including dried up paints, a dead computer mouse, a dirty wallet etc into the bin.

He's got rid of so much that one of the cupboards in his room is now redundant :T

    397 + 39 = 436.

    211.-218.
Quick declutter round in the kitchen:-
    219. Broken plastic storage bin lid
    220. Used up a miniature bottle of alcohol which I've had for about 6 years :D, bottle recycled
    221. OOD sauces
    222. Savings can, opened, contents of £51 deciding what to do with! Tin recycled.

Well done Luxor, you're absolutely motoring along :T

Brilliant work everyone we're all making great waves :T. What better way to prepare for xmas than clear out some of the old ready for the new.

So I've decluttered 222 things this month. That's 222 things I no longer have to tidy/wash/tidy/wash/move etc. But I should be up to 240 items today so I'm off to find some more things to go.
