    Afternoon all.

Finally sorted out one of the kitchen things, got all the spices/herbs/oxo etc in boxes on the same shelf in the same cupboard! So much tidied and I can see them properly too.

Have a couple of "outs" which I shall list later.

Have a good afternoon all :)

Well i tidied some of the office, it looks a bit better. Took some things upstairs that were loitering and got a box full of rubbish to throw out. 2/4 parcels packaged. Fixed the kids jigsaw box and dusted the mantel piece. Got some washing on too so not too bad considering i am EXHAUSTED and really sore.

Hoping to get some sewing done tonight, a few odds and sods ive been meaning to fix for ages. Need to get the dishwasher going after dinner and dry the washing and that will be me tonight x

  • Still slowly but surely here..... been busy wrapping up soft toys for a tombola I'm running on Saturday, plus other fundraising associated jobs, so haven't had much time for decluttering. However, got a phone call from estate agent to request a viewing next Thursday (25th!), so I've got just over a week to get my finger out and get going again.

All tombola bits should be gone at the weekend so I won't have them hanging around, plus whatever else I can sort out and put away/dispose of.

    15. 3 of the cheap coat hangers that you get when you buy clothes - bin
    16. 1 colander/sieve thing that I've never used - CS
    17. 1 book of hubby's - CS
    18. Quite a few metres of cellophane wrapping up soft toys for tombola

Have got a busy week and a bit coming up, going out here, there and everywhere, but will try and get a couple of things decluttered each day. It all adds up....

  • Thanks for the replies. I thought you were going to tell me to go and read through the thread :D ( I did try!) So thanks for the welcome.

CS - is that charity sack?

Right I will aim for 10 things. I suffer with depression and bipolar so I am all or nothing. Last time I tried to declutter the kids cried their eyes out because I threw 80% of their toys away.

That's it, baby steps. cs =charity shop.

There are a couple of us here who have depression and other stuff, that's why this group is so good; we can all support each other. If you have a good one and get rid of tons, we can jump up and down and shout yippee with you :j or if you have a day when it's less we can be encouraging cos we have all been there.

:rotfl: read the last bit wrong that you tried to declutter the kids and they cried :rotfl:

  • Good morning - it looks grey and damp out there, so an excuse for lighting the fire early? No, must keep doing stuff. This morning a bit more came out of the bedroom shelves, and more stuff put away properly. I discovered a box of new warm winter socks so they went into the drawer space I created yesterday, and the empty plastic storage box went into my 'empty' room. There's an event on Saturday I need to do some cooking for and a food bank collection on Sunday so I think I'll start sorting for that and free up more space. Space means it doesn't look 'out of control' - though I'm a bit frightened of having controlled everything. I am also not a 'finisher' so I am finding it's getting harder. Still, I am not going to finish today, so that's a problem for another time! Onwards!

Hoping for a productive afternoon, pregnancy pains have eased (after 2 days of said pains!) and we are off to soft play this morning so hoping the kids will be chilled and easy to work around this afternoon.

Focusing on the family room/kitchen today as it needs to be tidy for the birth of baby (we are having a home birth). Must finish the washing i started yesterday and empty the bins :)

  • In continuing to sort out the clutter in my bedroom, I opened a storage box and instead of swirling the contents around I actually opened a plastic bag. Inside was an almost-finished hand knitted cardigan and a half-finished crochet top. Thinking back this would have been left with me by an aunt who emigrated early in the century! And I've only just opened the bag! So I've been 'unknitting' and have already made up 4 balls of wool. I've put the rest by the fireplace for this evening. I think I'm moving on from the 'out with it' phase of decluttering to the 'look at everything and put it in the right place' phase!

Well ive been plodding along slowly for an hour (thanks to a grinding pelvis :( ) Got all the washing up to date and all the pots, wiped all the sides and sorted the small pile of junk accumulating in the kitchen. Got DDs outgrown wellies aside for the CS. On that note, we take everything to Barnardos and we are signed up for their gift aid scheme, got our quarterly letter saying we raised an extra £22.44 this quarter from our stuff thats been sold in their shop via gift aid :j last quarter it was £29 and the quarter before it was £79 (before i started Ebaying to recoup some money). Feeling happy with that :A They also included a bag which i now aim to fill and drop in by November :T

Hoping to get some more bits done but just having a break on the laptop for now, resting my hips x

Hi Everyone, can I join you?

I'm going into hospital in a few months time to have a hysterectomy so I really want to have my house in order before hand as I'll have to rest for a while after surgery.

I know my hubby will be constantly asking me where things are/go. So hopefully if everywhere is decluttered and rearranged, things will be easier to see and find.

Yesterday I sorted out a big corner kitchen cupboard where I keep tupperware, jugs, scales, slow cooker, George Forman etc. I had so many half opened packs of paper napkins it was unbelievable . So I've started using them instead of kitchen roll as they felt a bit damp.

Ds doesn't want me to get rid of anything as he's going to Uni next year and thinks he'll use the stuff. What he's going to do with a set of ramekins is anyone's guess :rotfl:

Old tupperware and icecream tubs I've set aside as I'm going to use these is some of the other cupboards to sort out smaller items.

I actually felt delighted after I had finished that big cupboard. I kept going out and opening the doors to look at how neat and organised it looked.....how sad am I? :D:D
