    Morning everyone :)

Wow, loopychriss - you've been going great guns!!! :T:T

Thanks rumblytum, although it comes in fits and starts at the moment!

Today I have spent a couple of hours squashing and sorting cans for recycling (we have them dropped off by various people all over our village, and get cash for them to go in our grandson's future care fund). Today I worked my way through 10 black sacks full and have now got another 9 sacks to take to the recyclers tomorrow.

Not much else got done today except I pulled our bed away from the wall and hoovered and washed the carpet there. Oh, and finished counting the remaining bag of money raised from collecting tins. So not much at all really!

    131. 10 black sacks of cans squashed and reduced to 9
    132. Loads of dust gone from behind our bed
    133. Broken glass to glass recycling box (not broken by me this time!)
    134. Scrapbook paper square plastic container - to friend with soaps
    135. Most of my ribbon stash - to friend as above

Off out in a bit, to a 'bath bomb workshop'... going to learn how to make bath bombs! One of my friends has a cottage industry making soaps, bath products and other cosmetic things, so I thought I'd go and have a go. Should be fun and even if mine goes wrong it can still be chucked in the bath later!

  • I had 25 items end on eBay yesterday with bids on. The post office are going to hate me on Saturday morning! I've started wrapping them up tonight. Be glad to see them gone!

Someone a few days ago mentioned the pile of snipped recipes and craft projects they had cluttering. (sorry can't remember who)
I too have folders and notebooks with recipes, some (most) I've never tried. That's just daft.

SO - my tip is make it a project (add to your flylady list if you like) to try at least one recipe from your clippings every week.
If you like the recipe - keep it - neatly stuck in a notebook/ in a plastic sleeve in a ring binder, how ever allows you to use it easily.
If you decide that you don't like it - out it goes.
Obviously you may end up buying ingredients especially, if you look at the recipe and decide you can't afford the ingredients - out it goes. If I can't afford it now I wont be able to in 3 months time.
If the recipe/ingredients are seasonal you might want to keep the recipe in a file with a 'date to deal with' note.

I've only just started this scheme today:rotfl:so I'm playing it by ear, but I have learnt that with de-clutting we do like systems.
Today I had the oven on so went looking for some 'nicey' recipes. Chose Banana Bread (lovely, pretty cheap to make, but will try it in a smaller tin next time) and Honey Oat Cookies ( mix was too dry to roll into balls so added a bit more butter and then baked it in a tin like flapjacks, nice taste, cook for less time) - I always write notes like that on my cook books

After another couple of hours in the loft I've managed to get rid of the following:
3 bags of books for the charity shop
2 bags of magazines for recycling
    3 other bags of recycling
    1 bag of rubbish
1 bag of clothes for charity shop

It doesn't sound like much but I've boxed and sorted and revealed a lot more carpet too! I've also discovered a jacket that now fits me and a jacket and pair of jeans that are too big. On a roll...

    Well done Black cat

Busy day, but not decluttering. Can only report

    2 bath mats

Change that! DD has just this second announced she has a carrier bag of old clothes to go to charity.

    Happy decluttering everyone

  • This is for yesterday:

    95 one cardboard box recycled
    96 one ornament to cs
    97 one perfume bottle recycled
  • A few little bits found today before I went out - all went to the charity shop in town.

    136. Mini hip flask
    137. 3 fridge magnets
    138. Worktop saver
    139. 1 book
    140. 2 glasses cases
    141. Balloon pump
    142. Chopsticks set: one of those 'why on earth did I buy it?' items. Because it was the anniversary of the tsunami (in March) in Japan, and the stall I bought it from in a town in NZ was raising money for the victims ....

Also took 11 sacks of aluminium cans to the recyclers and got £8 for them.

I am finding it increasingly difficult now to find things to fling - I have gone through most of our stuff now and can't find anything much more to get rid of! I still have to tackle my clothes though - and this is a mammoth job as I keep buying more in the charity shop each week. (At only £1 each for M&S Autograph and Per Una I can't resist. I'm gradually building up an M&S wardrobe!).

I intend to go through all my clothes before the end of the month but keep putting the job off as it's been so hot (don't want to keep trying winter stuff on in the heat) or we've been out and about and haven't had the 3 or so hours it will take. It will get done though....

I've said this before, but I really am loving the new uncluttered look of the house, and putting everything away in its own place. It's also a great weight off my mind to know that all the craft stuff and sewing stuff is out of the house and being used by people who will actually use it, and not just look at it and drool over it!

Onwards and upwards....! It's nearly September!!!

Another charity bag filled and 40 things listed on ebay with at least another 20 to be added over the weekend.. pennies for christmas these!

I am needing to shift loads of stuff.. but am really struggling to find the time or the motivation once more. I think the end of summer hols apathy has moved in .. great guns for September though.. I need to clear some gubbins before the christmas influx of junk tat and general clutter! All I want is driving lessons but I know all I will get are socks, smellies I won't use and jewellry I won't wear! (I am a nark tonight)

  • hello.........

I read but no longer post, I did join in January but we had Ofsted and from that point onwards life was crappy - not massively crappy just stressful and hard bloody work to manage everything.

I read one of my early posts and to my horror my cluttering situation has not changed at all.

In fact it has got far worse!

I have had five weeks off work and only have one left.....

I did clear out my wardrobe - bag of clothes to charity but now need to move on to the rest of my stuff.

So I pledge this weekend to clear my room. I will report on progress later today.

sorry to just randomly turn up!

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • I am really pleased with myself as have sorted and listed all my daughter's autumn and winter clothes from last year on ebay, hooray! Hopefully they will raise some funds for new clothes for this year.
