  • With half an hour to spare, I made it! Beds in different rooms, all clutter out of the way (to be sorted another day), floors hoovered. I have an empty room! :j

Thanks marmiterulesok - we really have so many cards - we tend to get about 10-15 each for birthdays but we must have a hundred cards here. I think I'll have to string some on ribbons to give them a home.

Well done on getting the room cleared silentsister.:T

The sixth load of laundry today is on (no more room for drying stuff, due to the rain). We've unpacked two suitcases (one from the wedding, one from the honeymoon) and put out a lot of packaging for recycling (all wedding supplies seem to come in corrugated cardboard!) I can see some floor in the lounge. :D

I've hardly stopped today, worn out now, lol! I've been mostly decluttering cobwebs while doing a thorough hoover, but also thoroughly cleaned the bathroom, sorted the pile of papers, mags and leaflets at the side of the sofa and put them into recycling box, along with old argos catalogue. Cleared a load of paperwork off the kitchen worktop and filed/recycled it, did a pile of shredding and emptied the shredder into the green waste bin, shredded OH's old credit card as he got a new one last week.

I had 3 ice cream tubs beside the unit in the lounge, 2 of which contain computer leads and a few other bits, and the other one contained some computer discs, I've now put the discs on the computer desk and put the tub out for recycling, as it was cracked. In one of the tubs I also found a memory card and a lead belonging to DS, (who I'm going to visit on Thursday so will take them with me), 2 sets of earphones (CS), and an mp3 player which hasn't been used for ages and not sure if it works, will check it tomorrow and decide what to do with it.

This evening I used some of the freebie bananas that OH got from work, to make a banana cake, which we had a piece of with custard for dessert tonight.

Just putting my head over the parapet to say, my house is looking like a tip! We've just come back from honeymoon yesterday, and added stacks of laundry to the remains of the wedding planning mess! Lots to sort out - four loads of laundry done today, and starting to find homes for things, but currently can barely move in the lounge. If we can clear some of this mess, we can put the rest of our cards up!

Congratulations, dont rush at anything or you'll lose that holiday/honeymoon feeling and feel as if you have never been away ;)

Not much decluttering today, although did manage to hang a pair of curtains that have been waiting for months. Other than that -

    7 - 1 pair of shoes - bin

Well done silentsister. My decluttering efforts yesterday have now left the building. I did manage to get a bit more done after our meal. In order to put the old sheets in the dustsheet box I had to move some stuff in the understairs cupboard, had a sort out whilst doing so. Out went the goldfish cleaning stuff (they died quite awhile ago) and returned some decorating stuff to it's proper place. Not a lot to go, but it is much tidier.

All set to declutter some more today, will continue doing the bedroom. I need to taxi the children round a bit today though so it will be stop start. Have a great day everyone, the sun is shining here in West Yorkshire.:j
