Have relisted 8 items on Eb*Y - aiming to get plenty more on there this weekend :)

2 items relisted last week are selling with watchers and 2 hours to go :) I relisted them at 99p and they are now selling at more than the start price I originally listed them with - I can never work this one out! Possibly bidders see 99p and think its a bargain ( it is !) and then get into bidding more.............

Anyway OH out flying for the day and DD2 at orchestra for the day - just me and the cats and a perfect drying day so once I get the WM on I will be decluttering :T

Here is a copy of part of an email I got from Oxf*m - where I send all my charity bag stuff - usually things that dont sell on Eb*y. I just felt it made the effort all worth while and I am glad the stuff was useful to someone and kept out of landfill :)

Thank you for choosing to Tag Your Bag – it means that since we last wrote to you your items have not only sold for £49.03 but made an additional £12.26 in Gift Aid. £61.29 could help to provide training to a woman coir worker in Sri Lanka so she can develop innovative products which will fetch higher prices and help her family.

I get a sheet of sticky labels with a unique number and the charity can claim back the tax through gift aid ( you have to be a tax payer) and just stick a label on the bag whenever I drop someting off.Lots of charities do it :)

  • I don't usually get rid of books - last time I had a clear out I ended up buying most of them back! But I have managed to find 10 that I know I'm never going to read again, so they're in a bag ready for the CS. Also managed to find a couple of little things that I've put on ebay - worth a go! One of the bookcases now looks quite reasonable, except for the top shelf which I can't reach so OH will have to sort that.
  • I'm relisting a lot of items that didn't sell last free listing weekend and more to list. Will feel excellent when all this stuff is gone. Will have much more to list over the next few weeks I reckon as finally starting to get my mum on board with the decluttering!

I've been in the garage

DH went to the recycling centre:

    wood skip:
    110. chair that has been broken  (saved the Cath Kidston oil cloth seat pad)
    111. part shabby-chic'd bedside cabinet that had woodworm when I stripped the dark varnish off

    cardboard skip:
    112. assorted cardboard boxes

    tetrapack bank:
    113. 3 weeks worth of milk & OJ cartons

    Ditched in February 113/100

    elsewhere:
    114. odd bits of polysterene
    115. broken picture frame
    116. plastic wastepaperbin
    117. more carpet off cuts
    118. a wierd bit of metal that arrived in the front garden two nights ago - looks like a scaffolding clip.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Making the most of a good mood, I sorted out two drawers. There's now a big bag of cables and old MP3 players for the charity shop, along with two calculators, some candles and a couple of horrendous ornaments that I don't even know how they got in the house, never mind how they've lasted so long!

Also sorted out a bag of giftbags and wrapping paper. Some that are a bit worse for wear went in the recycling, while the rest were filed in one bag where previously there were two. I am feeling more streamlined already!

Just taken 2 bin bags full to bursting of too big clothes to the charity shop. Have 4 very old pillows waiting to go, and lots of general household rubbish.

The nice weather has spurred me one.

    Well done everyone

Although I've been off work for a few days, OH has also been off so not a lot of decluttering got done. After work today I had a quick sort out in the spare room and put in CS box:-

5 hand knitted baby jackets and 3 hats
    A baby shawl
    Unused green 'L' plates
Unused headphones from an old phone
    A modem cable
    3 mains leads
    A pack of tile spacers
    An odd ball of wool
    An old board game

Also I filed some paperwork, and had a little pile for shredding/recycling, and OH took some cans, bottles and newspapers to recycling.

Ditch 100 in February challenge 84/100

    12 - 17. Ebay parcels posted
    18. Cardboard box cut up for Ebay packaging (and left over bits recycled)
    19. Magazine recycled
    20. Small jewellery box given to Mum

Oooh, everyone is doing so well with meeting (and exceeding) the February target. I am not doing very well so far, so will see what else I can find to go this weekend.
