  • Question for you - you've kept birthday/christmas/good luck/congrats cards because they're very pretty/expensive and mean a lot to you. Do you a) keep storing them though they've now served their function or b) recycle them - after all you have your memories?

Hi Blue Elephant i pondered this question a couple of years ago and decided to keep the cards from my DH and from dear friends and my parents who are no longer with us. I also kept good luck and congrats cards for milestones. Bought a large storage box which is only half full so should last me out! :)
  • I'm still feeling rotten, got the worst sore throat ever so going back to the doctors today. Gonna sort out what's for the tip and what's for the charity shop. We have a new one in town and I went in there yesterday and they are seriously lacking in stock and it's one of my favorite charities so going to give them as much as I can. Only problem is that they are in an awkward place in a bus station precinct bit so there is no where to pull up when you have a car full!

I've got a big in as well, OH bought me a slow cooker for valentines day. A massive 6.8litre one that does 8-10 servings lol.

    February total 113/100
DH has broken his belt this morning so it's in the bin. I've used more wood on the fire (a carrier bag full) so February total 120/100

Err, I think that's cheating ;) My DS smashed one of my Denby dinner plates last month. Gutting isn't it? I will have to wait until next Christmas to be able to replace it. At least they go on offer in the local shopping village at that time of year.

    29. packet of biscuits to carpet fitters
    30. magazine to CS bag

I'm not counting the 12 bags of old carpet bits that are outside waiting for DH to take to tip as there is a brand new, perfectly fitted stain & spot free carpet lying there on the floor ...just waiting for the first accidental damage :o

I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Major efforts in the garden today - 4 trips to the tip/recycling centre later I can report:
    1 broken guillotine
    5 bikes
    1 VERY rusty toolbox
    2 scooters
    3 kids diggers
    1 broken gas heater
    1 empty gas bottle
    1 broken plastic table
    random collection of balls
    2 broken swingball sets
    1 kids workbench
    1 broken pogo stick
    1 broken gazebo
    1 broken kids wheelbarrow
    random selection of waterpistols
    selection of broken plastic planters
    selection of holey buckets
    3 skateboards
    1 outgrown trike
    1 mop and bucket
3 half-used bags of compost (used as toilets by neighbourhood cats - nice!)
    1 broken washing line
11 black bags of assorted carp
5 black bags of garden waste
    3 broken chairs

I have also decluttered my sig as it wouldn't let me update:
    Declutter in February challenge: 75/100
Boxes packed for the move: 51

Quick tea break, then on to the kitchen - I'll have about 50% less space in the new place, so lots must go!

    Wow, that is really impressive!

I've definitely hit 100 for the month so have stopped counting but I have spent an hour and a half out in the garden this afternoon and have filled a wheelie bin full of leaves and garden waste. There is so much to do out there though, it's going to be a lot of work for us this summer. We didn't do much at all last year as we concentrated on decorating throughout upstairs, so this year we will have to spend a lot of time catching up.

Another 2 items sold on ebay too, so parceled up and ready for me to post in the morning.
  • I've got about 6 books now in the recycling, all unbinded. I keep the hard covers from old books to use in posting flimsy items. I sent a book in plastic wallet between the recycled covers of a tatty Beano Annual, sure they probably thought I was mad when they got it lol. Got a big bag ready for Charity shop but not sure when I can get there to give it in, also got a few big bags for the tip!

Got 5 old games and a pair of old doc martens to list as well as loads of other items and a pile of stuff to shred.

    That is impressive!

I'm going to tackle our shed when the warmer weather comes. I'll have to pack the kiddies off to MIL for the day though or I'll never get anything done...

I was at 40 and 5 of my 7 eb@y items have bids and end later this eve. So far totalling about £25 too which is very welcome!

Tomorrow I'm having a bit of a sort in the conservatory as it is like a toys r us depot. They don't play with everything, so I think we can realistically sell / cs some or maybe take to church playgroup.

Well done some very impressive decluttering going on.

I spent time in the garden and have filled a black bag with weeds. I need to spend hours to get it looking better but I have to be really careful due to a back problem.

Indoors the boys are cleaning their rooms, we only did them a few weeks ago and already they are full of rubbish. Some stuff has gone in the recycling bin and some general rubbish.

I have also managed to gloss the sideboard.

    Back to it.
