I am entitled to my opinion and you are to yours. This forum allows members to express opinions without them being described as "half arsed". Very sadly I did take the time to read the whole thread before replying as most other posters will have done. I also suggested that you had the option of buying a fully refundable ticket. To repeat, your opening post should have been more explicit at the time, as others have observed and you have now partially admitted this with your belated (but very welcome) edit today.
Yes you are entitled to your opinion and I'm sure other people value it. I included all relevant information to the OP for the case in hand. As I said before and now for the last time, insurance was never an option and that's why I didn't include info about it in the OP. I did however clarify for those who asked. So the Mods decided to delete your post for what reason? (And no I did not complain or report your post) On an open forum, you cannot use inappropriate language like that in any circumstances. To seek to justify it because you have decided that those posters failed to offer the help that you expected reflects badly on you. Please just say "I disagree" - it's common courtesy.
Because for them it may have seemed rude towards others. As I said I was not rude to anyone who offered help, I merely stated the obvious for the others who slacked my apparent decision of snubbing travel insurance.
This debate is irrelevant to the thread and the issue at hand and that's why it's best I leave it and focus the energy on solving it with BA. Will keep you updated.

Just to update everyone on this, the other week I received a travel voucher from British Airways for the full amount of the flights paid to BA, valid for 12 months, as well as all taxes and surcharges refunded to the card that they were paid with.
No admin fees were charged.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions.0 -
