Hope you get some good news soon, SK. Waiting for something so important is awful. Can't be long now, surely? x
Signature updated after payday on 15th, and I have managed my first revised monthly payment of £1020! That's a hell-ish amount of money and I seriously don't know that it's sustainable every month. But one down, only another 65 to go.
Mr Happy's mum has been discharged from hospital today. He is staying with her at her house tonight to make sure she's OK. She doesn't live in our town and the hospital was even further away so petrol costs are high this month. Both kids are now back at uni so the reduced food bills will offset it.
The tenant of our rented house has rung to say she's noticed a leak in the bathroom. We're going on Sunday to sort it and I am praying it's something minor that won't need a plumber - or a big spend!
Off to bed now, but it feels strange having the house all to myself after it's been so busy all summer. Not sure I like it!LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Glad to see that things are progressing. Nice one ref the pay out. Pity that it couldn't have been spent on fun stuff! Still on wards and downwards from here!
Wow about the petrol over charge. You have reminded me to be very careful with that now.
Sorry to hear about parents being not well. They are such a worry aren't they. My MIL and FIL are not getting any younger, and I really want to be home with them for their last years. We shall see

My poor neglected diary. It's been over a month since I wrote in it, although I've done some secret stealth-reads from work. Thanks Kerri, Brizzle, SpecialKaye and Chev for popping by, much appreciated
.
Mr Happy's mum's health is still a worry. She is quite well at the moment but she just seems to have one problem after another. I suppose that's to be expected at age 93. We may soon have to face the fact that she needs more care than can be given at home, but for now we are managing and family pop in several times each day to check on her and make meals etc.
My main news is that the tenant of our rented house sadly passed away three weeks ago. It was a sudden, massive heart attack with no warning whatsoever. She was younger than me. Such a shock for the family, who are now clearing the house and will return the keys to me today. She kept the house clean and tidy, but it will still need decorating and replacement carpets so I've got a busy and expensive few weeks ahead, with no rent coming in. I'm not going to complain in the circumstances. It has delayed my debt repayments for October and November, but it's not the end of the world for me like it was for her. Kind of puts things in perspective.
The horses are now inside at nights and the coal stove is lit (we have no gas here so no central heating) and thus the winter expense begins!

Hi happy
What awful news. Something similar happened last month to someone we knew, 37 I believe. Certainly puts things into perspective.

It all sounds rather grim, Happy. How desperately sad for the tenant and her family, and how shocking for you. I'm glad Mr Happy's mother is better and really pleased to hear that with family support she's still able to be at home. It sounds as though the next few weeks are going to be both busy and expensive - in other words, probably not a lot of fun. Hang on in there and know that we're all rooting for you.Better is good enough.0
