Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped! Name Dropper
    :):):):):) PAYDAY TODAY :):):):):)
Well here I am, wide awake since 3.00 am because it's payday and I was too excited to sleep! I have spent the last two hours sorting out our finances, and it is GOOD NEWS!
From last month's salary I paid for both car insurances in full, an MOT and six months tax for one car and a new tyre for the other. That meant I had to use my credit card for food etc. But today, I have paid off what I used and reduced the card debt by an additional £310. Not a huge reduction BUT I decided that I would hold back £220 to pay into my little bank accounts to cover any emergencies, because I really want to get through a month without touching my credit cards at all. And I have a tight but do-able grocery, petrol, coal and animal budget (including a guesstimate for the Happy Horse's vet bill which still hasn't come).
And to add to the excitement, I have had five Ebay bids on my cardi.
    Good times!

It's all sounding good and actually £310 is a substantial amount as this is leftovers of your monthly spends. You didn't have leftovers when you started debt busting did you? The amount will go up each month as you clear more debt as well.

I don't envy you the guesstimate vet bill for Happy Horse. I always tell the Captain not to look at the vet when he visits at the yard in case he gets any ideas. Fairly sure my friend's horse has a crush on the vet, the amount of times she has to call the vet out for various knocks and bruises!

Absolutely..this is fab news Happy!! Well done. We are SO excited too!

I have vehicle tax to pay this month..but hey, the current account can take it. Its fab news. I do like these pots and making key spends accounted for on a monthly basis..its a much better way of managing cash flow

Painted Lady and Tilly..I know how you feel. I am living proof of using bonuses to get myself out of trouble. Now don't really have them to the same degree, or the regular income for that matter (I am now PT) so have to really focus and curb my behaviour...but I am getting there!! As Happy says onwards and upwards!
