I'm terrible for falling into bed still wearing the remains of the day's make-up.

My solution for that is not to put any make-up on in the first place. :) I rarely wear make-up now even on a night out. Although when I did in the past, it didn't matter how tipsy I was or how late it was, I would always remove my make-up and always always brush my teeth. I cannot get in bed and go to sleep without brushing my teeth, it feels so wrong.

About the windows, I think we're just too remote for it to be worth a window-cleaners while coming. But I had never considered an extending pole. That's a brilliant idea and I can't believe I'd never realised they might exist. So that's Mr H's Christmas pressie sorted :D (I'm not even joking, he will love it!)

Oh yeah, just what Mr H always wanted, I'm sure. :D

Haha, I like it, a woman after my own heart! :D

Got to go to Tesco later so I will try and not hang around the sweetie aisle.

I appear to have developed a slight addiction to Starburst (really Opal Fruits) so I am trying really hard to avoid sweetie aisles at the moment but it's tough.

I didn't make it on here at all yesterday. Friday's are a bit mad - I work from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, and then when
BB - If you're still in the stationery cupboard over that whitebait & mussels incident, you can come out now - provided you eat them for 'dinner and tea', not 'lunch and dinner'. Of course it's dinner and tea and supper is a biscuit and a cuppa before bed :rotfl:

Dolphin - good going on the NCDs. I'd count twirl day as one of them, because firstly you had Good Intentions, and secondly twirls are tiny nowadays.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend - will do a full update tomorrow xx

    Update for Wednesday & Thursday...

    2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - All done for this week. :jIt is so much easier knowing what you are making
    3) Be in bed by 10.00pm and light out by 10.30pm Sunday to Thursday - On Wednesday, I went to bed at 10.15pm and light off at 10.55pm but then read stuff on my phone in the dark until 11.25pm. Doh! On Thursday, bed at 10.05pm and light off at 10.45pm. I think you're still in holiday mode.
    4) At least 30 minutes walking during the day - On Wednesday, 40 minutes. On Thursday, 60 minutes. :j Excellent

    Update for Friday...

    1) To have at least 15 NCDs - Fail but not entirely my fault. I had a hospital appointment that went on until lunchtime so decided to head to the hospital cafe for a sandwich and a cup of tea. Had to settle for a twirl and a cup of tea because 'we don't do gluten free sandwiches'. A hospital, for goodness sake! Shouldn't they cater for all dietary requirements? Anyway, still on 7 NCDs. I agree with Happy and would count this as 8 NCDs as you had to eat at the hospital and I would have expected them to have catered for all dietary requirements. Half way there and still plenty of days left to achieve your target.
    2) To meal plan at the end of the week for the following week - Next week's plan is on my to do list for today. I think you've cracked this target
    4) At least 30 minutes walking during the day - 60 minutes done (2 x 20 minutes & 2 x 10 minutes).
Great progress with three out of four of your targets - be in bed by 10.00pm .. I'm sure you'll be back in a routine next week.

Update for the last two days:
    • 1400 calories, to include 5 x F & V. Pfft. I have managed the F & V thanks to the plum, tomato and cucumber mountain. Also lemon in the lemon cake and carrot in the carrot cake. Thursday I ate 1842 calories, and Friday 1684. So a fail, but not as big a fail as if I'd not been counting. Lemon & carrot count :D
    • Six glasses of water daily I start each day with good intentions, so I get three glasses before that wears off. Again, better than if I wasn't counting. I've been missing my water intake recently and have resorted to a bottle of water to remind me
    • Only one bottle of wine per week. Tick Excellent
    • At least 7 hours in bed per night I seem to be sleeping really well at the moment which is not like me. I'm half wondering if it's to do with no mid-week alcohol. I will monitor this because I like it. Possibly, I only have a drink at a weekend and find my sleep can be disturbed.
    • Flying Been flying externally today. A lovely neighbour has been splitting her overgrown plants and they are now all in our garden looking lovely. I hope they survive, but she did warn me that they will disappear underground for winter soon, so the test will be whether they reappear in spring. Flying is Flying - your garden will look lovely.
    • No unnecessary spending Tick. Got to go to Tesco later so I will try and not hang around the sweetie aisle.
    • Hope you managed to keep away from the sweetie aisle
  • I spent too much time in the kitchen yesterday prepping food for the freezer so I couldn’t be bothered with anything else. Hoping for a better target day today.

Honey Bear – hope all OK with you as you’ve not posted for a couple of days.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
  • Of course it's dinner and tea and supper is a biscuit and a cuppa before bed

Oh, I agree! I can just about cope with someone saying dinner for their evening meal but supper, no, just no!

I bought DH a window vac thingy last year and he loved it!

I'm clearly missing a trick with getting window cleaning gadgets for my OH. Seriously though, I'm fairly sure he would just prefer a computer game. :)

About dust, we thought our house would be relatively dust free now we don't burn coal but it's still terrible. For the last year we've blamed it on the house refurb, but I don't think that one works any more. I have a friend who exfoliates every day in the shower because she says it cuts right down on the dusting. I've no idea if she's right, but even if she is I can't see it working here with four adults, two dogs and a cat!

Nothing, as far as I can tell, stops dust from breeding, and cat and dog hairs just make it all the more visible. I quite like your friend's idea of exfoliating in the shower to cut down on it because there is a school of thought that it's mostly skin cells *yuk* but exfoliating would be just another Good Intention I'd never get round to doing. I've just learned to live with the stuff other than flapping a duster about when I can write the dog's name in it.

Would the buying of the much-wanted stick-thing for Mr Happy for Christmas to clean upstairs windows count as actual Flying? A point to ponder, isn't it?

Elnora, your Good Intention was to complete one project by the end of the month, and you have finished The Chair, so you don't need to start another one until next month. Let's be completely honest, 12 completed projects a year would be a magnificent total, wouldn't it?

Dolphin, we saw Souvenir on Thursday (meh) and Pain and Glory (totally fab) yesterday. I'm very lucky; OH's work is film and theatre, so he chooses everything we go to; he knows my tastes and we both occasionally see films and plays on our own, but mostly together. We have completely different taste in TV, and I watch much less than him but he doesn't do F'book, so things even out timewise.

Regarding your walking, there's no point in varying your route to the station - in the morning there's no time, in the afternoon you're tired and just want to get home. Can you make yourself walk for 10 minutes at lunchtime?

Happy - sleep and alcohol. I can bore on this for quite a long time having stopped drinking five years ago. Suffice to say, you're right, they're related, sadly.

Everyone's doing a lot better than me and I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up or contributing. I'm drowning in unfinished tasks and not happy about it. but today I am concentrating on packing for another few days away starting on Monday 30th September when we'll be visiting Lille and Brussels. Believe it or not, I'm packing today!
    Better is good enough.

    • To have hit 63 kgs at some point on the scales over the course of the month which will require a steady downward tragectory. Not yet.
    • 15 minutes Flying per day. Not yet.
    • Stretches after each dog walk. Now stretching all the time, whenever I feel my legs seizing up which seems to be a permanent state of affairs.
    • Clear one paperwork Frog each week ([STRIKE]minutes[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]tax return[/STRIKE], stocktake freezer and food cupboards) and Compliance stuff. This week hasn't been that successful, but I've heard from my accountants that the tax return has been completed.
    Better is good enough.
  • SERIOUS SEPTEMBER – DAYS 17-18

    · Go to bed at a sensible time during the work week – N/A the last two days as I haven't had to get up for work!
