Very cool. A great skill to have, but one I could never learn as I am totally useless at most practical things.
Kitchen plastering successful! We'll probably go back and do her ceiling when it's convenient for her. Excellent fun.
Are your jeans the 'Not Your Daughter's Jeans', or whatever they're called? I've admired those before but they were soooo expensive I couldn't run to them. I did find some similar ones in the M & S sale that promise the bum-lift thing, and they do work (a bit) and they do look good, so I bought two pairs of those. But guess what? Yep - I've been saving them for best!! I'm going to wear one of them today to take my mum shopping.
Yes, they are Not Your Daughter's and worth every penny. Admittedly I was visiting my cousin in America when she introduced me to them. She picks me up from the plane and takes me straight to Nordstrom's Rack where they're about 20% of the normal retail price. They're eye-wateringly expensive here, but my faithful blue stonewashed ones were falling apart I'd worn them so much, and I needed something smart casual (ie black) and very surprisingly found a local stockist. I might allow myself a new pair once every three or four years, and by calculating Price Per Wear they're without doubt my bargainest bargain. I would never try to run in them!
I'm catching up slowly, but it's been a rocky old weekend here. Nothing that directly affects me, it's a relationship breakdown within the family, but I'm handling the fallout and it is very exhausting.Horses now, then my run. Back later
Sorry to hear someone close is hurting. I hope recovery sets in really soon and everyone goes back to being happy, Happy.
I'll post an update when I get a moment.Better is good enough.1 -
Sorry I disappeared for a few days. We were away Friday and Saturday and then I lost my motivation on Sunday so can't remember all of the naughty stuff I ate (lots though) and didn't do my exercises. I have done a meal plan up to Thursday though so only need to think of something for Friday and Saturday. I want to defrost one of our freezers on Friday so I'll have a look at what else needs using up.
Hope everyone is well and managing to stay dry. The weather is dreadful here.1 -
- No computer after 9.00 pm and light out by 11.30 pm; Grr. By the end of the week I was so tired I could barely move after plastering B's kitchen on Saturday and so didn't, for about three hours. Back on track since, and feeling a bit better for it after a couple of early nights.
- 5 fruit and veg a day; Probably yes, due to discovering that a few fried onions and a freezer bag of mixed veg, together with a couple of leftover roast potatoes to thick it makes an excellent veggie soup for lunch when we're a bit short of healthy stuff.
- Keep a careful record of floury stuff eaten so that if I get a reaction I can work out what's making it happen; Tick. So far so good.
- Electric toothbrush once a day at least; Yes!
- Write all Christmas cards and do all the obvious Christmas shopping by 30 November so December is just the fun stuff. Nothing yet. I can't stand the idea of adding more paperwork to my accumulated tettering towers of paperwork yet, so ...
- Clear the filing tray and the in tray by the end of the month. Because I've been feeling so much better I've been ignoring my desk for weeks and it's all bit chaotic. Filing done! I also then filed about 80% of the In Tray because it's quite clear none of it is going to get done in the short term. A vast improvement. I've still got to go through the To Do file but I have a feeling that most of those notes will end up in the bin without actually being done.

Update for yesterday...
1) None eaten.
2) Meal plan for the week now complete.
3) Back exercises not done.1 -
Morning Dolphin and Happy! November is a seriously boring and depressing month but at least I know I'm doing myself some good working on these targetty goalie type things even if I don't post. Hugs all round for anyone in the doldrums or running to catch up with themselves because they're busy dealing with people in the doldrums. How's your back Dolphin? Is it time to start nagging you again?
- No computer after 9.00 pm and light out by 11.30 pm; I did use the computer after 9.00pm but not in a Mahjong Titans kind of bad habit way. I was looking for interesting recipes and found some. Lights out at 11.00 because I was shattered, so quite good, really.
- 5 fruit and veg a day; Probably not, but vast amounts of homemade pea and ham soup (oh boy have I cracked that recipe after a decade of trying), and then masses of tomatoes followed by a very fruity pud, so enough of those I did have.
- Keep a careful record of floury stuff eaten so that if I get a reaction I can work out what's making it happen; Tick. So far so good although I noticed yesterday morning a very familiar creeping tiredness that felt horribly familiar. I think it's cumulative so I'm watching gluten consumption very carefully.
- Electric toothbrush once a day at least; No. Bad Honey Bear, but I have been pretty good up to now.
- Write all Christmas cards and do all the obvious Christmas shopping by 30 November so December is just the fun stuff. I've found them so that's a start and there's a list I can get cracking on when I've finished dealing with the apples which should be today.
- Clear the filing tray and the in tray by the end of the month. Because I've been feeling so much better I've been ignoring my desk for weeks and it's all bit chaotic. Filing as I'm going at the moment so that's an improvement.

A few months ago I set 'grow my nails' as a target on here, and it was really, really hard - a very early fail! I don't think it's stress, just habit. I've been doing it since I was about five years old; I can remember a little girl in my class at school showing me how to do it and thinking it was very grown-up. I might try some of that nasty tasting stuff, see if I can kick the 50 year old habit!
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527

Well done Dolphin, Honey and Joey. I am in awe of you all! Sorry I've not been around much. My own update:
- Money. Doing OK with this one, which is the most important to me. Payday is Friday, and assuming there are no disasters I will have enough to pay all the bills, including the usual £1100 off credit cards. I should also be able to cover Christmas without touching December's salary.
- Health eating. Whoops
:(! Too much stress-eating I think.
- Me. Hair booked in for Friday, mascara bought already because I was desperate. No sign of any exfoliating or de-fuzzing yet.

I've heard of some convenient excuses but honestly, do you expect us to fall for that! Pah! (I bet it was lovely, too.)
2) Meal plan for the week already done.
Nifty, really, having that as a targetty thing because once it's done that seven whole days of virtuousity right there. Very clever. I wish I'd thought of it!
3) Back exercises done (no nagging necessary Mrs Honey Bear).
Good. Well done.Hi Swash, sorry for the time lag. I'm doing OK thanks, hope you are too x

I thought smoking and drinking were grown-up! Good thing I didn't think that at 5, isn't it? The foul tasting stuff worked so well for me I only had to buy one bottle and put it on once but I'd only been munching on them for a few years. Good luck with it.Well done Dolphin, Honey and Joey. Don't rush these things. You've got until the end of the month, you're making progress (have a lovely time on Friday) and no doubt your eyes look very exotic. Everything grows thicker fur in cold weather. It's there for a reason and it means you don't have to turn the heating on/up so soon.Better is good enough.1 -
