Well done for keeping going when the rest of us were swanning around doing nothing Dolphin and welcome back Joey! I hope Happy's okay and that Mr Happy hasn't had an attack of the vapours instead of 'getting well soon' as they say after his surgery.
- No computer after 9.00 pm and light out by 11.30 pm; *Meh* All the other nights were fine but we stayed up watching some nonsense on TV so the light didn't go out by 11.30.
- 5 fruit and veg a day; Yes, definitely yes for yesterday.
- Keep a careful record of floury stuff eaten so that if I get a reaction I can work out what's making it happen; Tick. So far so good.
- Electric toothbrush once a day at least; Er ...
- Write all Christmas cards and do all the obvious Christmas shopping by 30 November so December is just the fun stuff. Nothing yet. I can't stand the idea of adding more paperwork to my accumulated tettering towers of paperwork yet, so ...
- And another one: Clear the filing tray and the in tray by the end of the month. Because I've been feeling so much better I've been ignoring my desk for weeks and it's all bit chaotic. Made a start last night on the filing.

I think I did enough swanning last month.

I suspect that Mrs HappyNow's absence is because Mr HappyNow is recuperating at home and it is a secret diary. I hope that's all it is anyway.- No computer after 9.00 pm and light out by 11.30 pm; *Meh* All the other nights were fine but we stayed up watching some nonsense on TV so the light didn't go out by 11.30.

I like this target. I think I might have a go at this too. I haven't got much to do so it is completely doable. - And another one: Clear the filing tray and the in tray by the end of the month. I have to type something here.1 -
Update for yesterday...
1) A belgian bun. I always struggle with this more in autumn/winter than in spring/summer. Comfort food I guess. I'm going to start making my homemade soups for lunch again from next week because I don't think my current salad is hitting the spot now. Will have to avoid the buttered bread to go with the soup though.
2) Meal plan for the week already done.
3) Back exercises done.1 -
Hope you're well HN x"Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles".1

Here I am! Dolphin was right, I've been struggling to get on here with Mr H prowling about, bored. Today is his first day back at work so I'm hoping life will get normal again. His knee is still sore and I think he might have been better getting another sick note, but he decided he'd rather go back and just take it easy.
NoCrapNovember has been full of crap so far!- Money. The only good bit! We still don't have any, but payday is a week tomorrow and all the bills are in. I've updated my signature, and I'm on target to get the unsecured debt below £40K on 15th December! MBN* have changed their offer for some reason. For years they've given me a rolling 0% offer with 4% fee, which I renew as it expires. This month they've changed it to a 4.9% life-of-balance offer, with no fees. I'm going to load it up as high as they'll let me because that's better than I'm paying elsewhere
- Healthy eating. It should be really hard to comfort eat this month because I can't afford junk. But instead of shopping wisely and frugally to ensure we are well-nourished, I have mainly bought chocolate and cake. I honestly do think it's a comfort thing, but it must stop. I've given up completely on myfitnesspal for now.
- Me. Joey has inspired me, I really do need to take myself in hand. I have plans, but most of them cost a bit so need to wait until next week. So far I have coloured my hair (had the dye already), and forced myself to cleanse and moisturise my face each night. When payday is here I need to get a haircut, buy a new Clinique foundation (I'm shoving cotton buds into the empty bottle at the moment!), buy a new mascara, and buy some more face cream. I'm also determined to exfoliate my feet on a daily basis because they're pretty grim! My heels are as 'hoofy' as my horses', and I also have the hairy legs to match
. I used to get free chiropody treatments via work, but that stopped in April.
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

HappyNow, I'm glad I inspired you though if you could see me you'd perhaps regard it more as a warning. However all previous days actions achieved and today I added lip balm.
I am going to colour my hair at the weekend, trim my fringe to avoid a haircut just yet (have an appointment lined up when I'm in London - belated birthday gift from friend) and give myself a pedicure so those will be the add one things for the weekend though clearly they won't be daily things, they are still things I wasn't doing so its all in the same spirit.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

More healing vibes for Mr Happy's knee and I hope they let him take it easy at work.

- No computer after 9.00 pm and light out by 11.30 pm; I've been turning the computer off but I think I may have managed the lights out thing once this week although nothing too outrageous. It's certainly been off by midnight and I've been waking up earlyish, so I'll call this week 'Testing the boundaries.'

The start I made went for nothing - I had to clear the stuff away in a hurry for a neighbour to use my desk after she locked herself out. No progress. Grr.

I think we all get in a bit of a rut with beauty regimes. I was very disciplined about it all when I worked in an office full time including a sort of MOT at the salon every 6 weeks where I had my hair cut, coloured, defuzz and facial. Those days, and that pay packet, have long gone and over time I've just slipped further down the slope of 'can't be bothered'.
However, I have realised in the last few days that this is all quite good for my self esteem. I feel better. I'm unlikely to return to the full face of make-up days but I did remember to put on a bit this afternoon, and the girls I met for coffee all commented on how well I was looking (firmly trying to ignore my inner monologue which suggests that means 'because you normally look dreadful' :rotfl:)
Today I added nail strengthener to the routine - mine invariably peel at the sides.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

- Final plastering was successful - I'd be happy with that finish in my own house so I'm really chuffed with myself and very, very grateful to an outstanding tutor. Four of us are going round to one of the other plastering student's house next Saturday to help her do her kitchen. How cool is that?!
- Very cool. A great skill to have, but one I could never learn as I am totally useless at most practical things.

And then, having discovered a brand of jeans that makes my bum look rather fab (and does a bit of magic on the tummy front), I bought one blue stonewashed pair and one very smart black pair. They cost an eye watering amount and are worth every penny because if I want to feel confident while looking casual, they're what I grab..
Are your jeans the 'Not Your Daughter's Jeans', or whatever they're called? I've admired those before but they were soooo expensive I couldn't run to them. I did find some similar ones in the M & S sale that promise the bum-lift thing, and they do work (a bit) and they do look good, so I bought two pairs of those. But guess what? Yep - I've been saving them for best!! I'm going to wear one of them today to take my mum shopping.
I'm catching up slowly, but it's been a rocky old weekend here. Nothing that directly affects me, it's a relationship breakdown within the family, but I'm handling the fallout and it is very exhausting.
