Are you ok Dolphin, I feel rather like I left you on your own for a bit. I've been doing the job of doom this weekend, still have a bit of paperwork to finish which is why I'm lurking on here rather than completing it.

Very odd at home at the moment - Eldest is off school as exams are over, Youngest is away on his residential trip for the week, its all just a bit un-normal.
I've left nearly all my good intentions by the wayside this month, even had a glass of wine last night! The dog has been walked for 6 miles a day and that's the extent of my achievements, if we're being a bit Pollyanna I suppose I could say that I now have plenty to build on :rotfl:

Hi Joey, no worries about leaving me on my own, I know you have your project to finish. I probably shouldn't be boring everyone with my daily updates while Mrs HappyNow is away but I am trying to keep the momentum going.

I'm actually feeling a bit tired and fed up today but I know I'll be ok again tomorrow especially if I can get to sleep earlier tonight so I'm just ignoring it.

I have been eating absolute rubbish today including pancakes for lunch and cheese and biscuits (with butter) for tea along with snacking on crisps so it looks like my good intentions have fallen by the wayside too for today.

Good luck with getting your paperwork finished!

Crisps are my absolute downfall, so you have my sympathy. I don't like chocolate and i can take or leave sweets and puddings, but crisps, cheese, savoury snacks of any sort - I love them all....except olives which I keep trying to like but failing.
Project of doom is finished and I don't think I'll do it again. It takes a lot of time, doesn't really pay that well considering the time involved and it causes me quite a bit of anxiety. I feel the results are not worth the input and unless the upcoming review results in quite a big increase to the fee then I will decline it in future.
Right I'm off to walk the dog and the have a leisurely bath as my reward.

Olives are just bleurgh! I have never liked olives. I did wonder if I would grow to like them like some other things that I didn't like growing up (like mushrooms and aubergine) so I tried one a few months ago just to see and it was absolutely vile!

Hope you enjoyed your walk and bath.

    1) Butter on my new potatoes for tea.
    2) No cake.
    3) Light off at 11.10pm.
    4) Meal plan for the rest of the week already done.
    5) No spends on other people. I can't believe that I have cut back so much on this but July is a big month for birthdays so it's going to be a bit spendy. I will set a budget though and try and stick to it.

Sounds like you're almost back on track - a little butter on new potatoes is surely permitted, almost wrong not to have them that way.

I've had a spendy month which has taken me by surprise, May was accidentally expensive because of unexpected things but I thought I had June in hand and its turned out to be dearer than I thought. July will be similar but I have little budget pots for most of it so that should help massively.

Joey, I have budget pots for most things too, it works well but I never seem to build up a balance in the pot for birthdays/Christmas as there seems to be something every month that depletes the pot. Grrrr!

See, there you are back on track - well done. I've not improved frankly, and have just had two glasses of pink wine which hasn't helped (but were hugely enjoyable). I'm having the rest of June off, I have a lot of stuff on my plate and providing I don't go massively the other way I will call it a success. Eldest is at prom, youngest home from residential and the weekend is full of cake deliveries and preparation for next week's school fair.
