Morning lovely ladies. I like the fun 'challenges', that seems to have been a recurring thought on lots of threads lately. I think we all get our heads down to sort our issues out and then look up and realise we're not really having any fun or worse. Bring on the fun, I say...though obviously mostly after exams are done.
Youngest J is actually having lots of fun at the moment as he is in Yr 6 and the SATs are over which seems to mean there is no more work to be done. He's been swimming, to a theme park and to our local gallery/museum this week. Next week they are making DT models all week with messy stuff. This is fab because they'll wear old clothes all week and his school jumper has run out before term did - massive hole in the elbow, one under each arm and an unravelling cuff. He'll have to wear a vast one the week after - his brother was about 9 inches taller than him in Yr 6.
And its Friday - pizza & red wine yippee.

Happy - the dog (terrier - looks like Gnasher) and I regularly walk 3 miles but I try to double it to give us both good exercise. The weather has been so dreadful recently that it hasn't happened and we have both been miserable during 3 miles of yeuch but looks like its improving. He likes the idea of a ball but never brings it back!
This is only my second Orchard project - the first was very good pasta - so I'm quite pleased with it since it costs nothing but a bit of a time. Rather jealous of the posh ice-cream one though, didn't get that but perhaps thats all to the good for the waistline.

Lots of site problems tonight. I'll keep this short because it might not post. Update for 4th :
    • Today's 'something fun'. I've been on a non-fun course all day, but lunch was provided and (Dolphin DON'T LOOK!) I ate five pieces of cake!! They were tiny, barely a mouthful each, but definitely fun! Three pieces of carrot cake and two chocolate cake. It's a two day course so I will hopefully do the same tomorrow:)

If someone tells me not to look, I just have to look :D. All that cake sounds like my idea of heaven! So jealous!

    • Waste no money Achieved. Mr H had to replace his phone charger which cost £15, I spent £32 on petrol and £12 in Tessies on emergency bits. Still haven't done a proper food shop
    • Make-up off/face cream on. Yep, I am sat here all clean and greasy-faced.
    • Nail biting. Left the nails alone but have been chewing the skin around both thumb nails and they're now bleeding. Think I need to grow up!
    • Book research Nope

I was a nail biter for years and even though I don't do it anymore, I still bite the skin around my nails. Sometimes I don't even realise I'm doing it until OH points it out to me.

OH and I are on holiday for a week after today so although I will try and be good, I cannot guarantee that I will be sticking to my targets so I will not be doing daily updates until the week after next. I will try and keep up with the thread when I can but we are heading to a remote cottage without internet access for a few days of our holiday so it might not be often.

Bring on the wine (and the odd slice of cake) :j!

Enjoy Dolphin - you deserve it - and having no contact can be very liberating.

Thanks Joey. Yes, I agree, no internet and no phone calls for a few days will do us the world of good.

I don't think Mrs H is on holiday yet, her internet is down. Basically by the time it's back up she'll be off to sunnier climes for a fortnight so her 'fessing up June is going to consist of a couple of days at the end, I think. It looks like we're on our own here for a while. I wonder what havoc we can create on her shiney thread. Hmm.
This time next week I will be sat in a beautiful open-air Spanish bar, dressed in my summer finery, nibbling olives and sipping sangria from Mr H's left shoe. Actually I will be fast asleep recovering from the 7 am flight. And not the shoe bit.

I had to laugh, Happy, at something he's started doing, thinking about your neighbour's dog getting all excited when you text to say you're on your way in the evenings. Our newish neighbour apparently lost her dog relatively recently but has realised now is not the time for them to get another one, so asks pretty regularly if she can take Kelpie for a walk. It tends to be around dusk and involves the front door bell. The dog now zips straight downstairs immediately, tail whirling and hopping about with excitement even if he's just been walked by me as soon as the doorbell goes!
I love how our dogs are such quick learners with the stuff they love, but just cannot master the more mundane stuff like 'sit' outdoors :D.

I bet I've bought 50 balls in the four years we've had the HappyDog!

I got the posh ice-cream one. That was a good month. I kept all the 'friend' vouchers for myself :D

    Today's update:
    • Today's fun thing. It was the second day of an intense course so not overly fun, followed by a trip to Tesco for a proper £82 shop and tidying the house. Rubbish! I will have to double up tomorrow :)
    • Money Tesco as above but no other spends
    • Make up off/face cream on I will do it now.....
    • Nail biting. I can see bits of white tips on four of my nails. That didn't take long :)
    • Kindling Nope
