Afternoon all!
HappyNow, I did consider putting a walking target in my May targets but I'm not sure whether I can walk anymore than I am already walking without aggravating my many aches and pains. I'm hoping that losing weight will help with that though. I have recently bought a Fitbit Charge and I usually manage somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 steps a day so I'm happy with that for the time being. Maybe in a couple of months.
HoneyBear, you didn't mention the dog insurance in your last post, does that mean that it's sorted? To be fair, buying any type of insurance is a pain in the wotsit so I can see why you have been putting it off.0 -
Ok, yesterday (day 11)...
1) No chocolate, sweets or biscuits.
2) Hmmm, failed!
I had a lovely slice of orange carrot cake and it was flipping yummy. Oh, how I missed cake!
3) Light off at 11.20pm so fine for a Friday.
4) Meal plan for next week done and shopping ordered for Sunday.
5) No spends on other people.0 -
Hello Happy. I have just read your diary. How fabulous is your progress? I love your optimism.

Well it might not have appealed to your sense of humour, but it kept me giggling :rotfl: I'm really lucky with the Happy Dog, she's not a roller. My previous dog (the collie x dalmo) would roll in ANYTHING provided it had been dead for at least six months.Honey_Bear wrote: »He's in disgrace this morning because he rolled in a patch of 'dog download' that someone hadn't picked up, and as said elsethread, yuk yuk yuk. Yes!! Isn't it great??! I'm already sucked into Big Brother even though I know it's rubbish & fake & mind-numbing etc etc. I don't actually watch much TV, there are just a few programmes I bother with: Big Bang Theory; Modern Family; Strictly Come Dancing; Big Brother, X Factor, The Voice (the ones in small font are the ones that for some reason I feel I should be embarrassed by in Real Life, but hey this is the internet and no-one knows me!)Honey_Bear wrote: »Wow! Hello Uphill and thanks for dropping by. I was going to recommend that you start a diary to help you, but I see you already have done. I have recently bought a Fitbit Charge and I usually manage somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 steps a day so I'm happy with that for the time being. I've seen those advertised. Are they like a fancy computerised pedometer? And 10,000 is the recommended daily steps I think? Go you!

I think we should nag her every day until she does it - or at least until she gives up trying! It's the most complicated insurance I have ever bought and probably very expensive for an older dog too. .
Well done Dolphin!Hmmm, failed!

Ooooh!!! You have done so well to only have one slice in all this time. You will probably find you appreciate it so much more now than you used to do and maybe even feel satisfied with just a small piece? That's the theory I believe, personally I could still eat a full one and feel I'd done nothing wrong

. I recognise your name from the MFW board. I'm not actually allowed in there until 2019, but I sometimes press my nose against the window and peer in, dreaming of the day......:D
I thought I'd have a quick nosey through your diary - then I saw it was 191 pages long so it might take a while! I'm on Page 5 so far!LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Yesterday's update:
- Money. Got an email from Travelex Supercard (the one for cheap overseas spending mentioned on the MSE email). I was too late registering and the trial has closed. So, I have signed up for a UKash card which I think will be second-best as I can't have a Hx Clarity. I daresay I would save more by just having one less Spanish ice-cream. No other spends.
- Healthy eating. It was all going very well until I decided to have four squares of Cadbury's Marvellous Creations, then ate the rest of the 150g bar

- Water. Yeah, this one's easy
- Spring Cleaning Umm, moving on......
- Sit-ups Did them in the morning but felt too sick to face it in the evening (see above re the chocolate
)

Well done Dolphin!
Thanks HappyNow.
Yes, the Fitbit Charge is a bit like a "fancy computerised pedometer" but can do more. For example, it also records other things like floors climbed etc. and if you download the app on to your phone you can record food eaten and other exercise you have done to get a fuller picture of how you are doing (haven't tried this yet). It also logs your sleep at night so you can see how much sleep you have had and how restless you were. Also, if you set up a Fitbit account online, it logs everything and sends you a weekly report by email.
It's pretty good but a tad expensive, normally £100 but OH got mine from Amazon for £60 (think it's back up to £85 for now).0
